Corsa VXR "Arctic"Edition

£17k and no leather, no sat nav, no bluetooth, no climate control. WTF

Knock £4k off and it would be a good buy. It just looks like a product to raise revenue for GM Financial.

£17k is a pee take but you don't need any of that in a hot hatch.

im not saying the VXR is a bad car but to say its better than a 197... me thinks someone needs to stay off the alco pops

All superlatives that are subjective and cannot be argued though. Seriously quick can be a 2.0Ltr Mondeo to a Citroen AX Debut driver.

Everything is relative to your experiences are frame of reference.

But as the original post includes a 6.2 LS equipped car referring to the Corsa as "Stupidly quick" is just rubbish.

Personally I would never limit my opinion on a car based on the limitations of my own car experience, I would make comparisons regarding relevant features etc but on a grand statement like "Stupidly quick" It would be against cars in general.

If the poster had quantified the statement by including "Stupidly quick for a hot hatch" I would have less of an issue (although still would have disagreed a bit :p;))

As you can see it is a pet hate so it may come across as a little irrational :p

Unlikely that there will be much money off the special edition one, but you can get the Corsa VXR for under £15K. That being said you can get a Clio 197 for under £14K for the FF and under £13K for the 197 Cup, so the Corsa still isn't all that great value.

Cant help but think the limited thing is a bit of a gimick, surely they cant sell that many Corsa VXRs in the first place, so 500 is quite a high figure!?

So it's white with big black alloys and a few other pretty bits and it's worth 17k?

Also a 197 would beat that round a track as said and a 197 isn't anywhere near 17k last time I looked.

Like the Megane R26, which is also faster then it's peers on a track, it's a cheaply finished french car which commands a lower price.. not that the Corsa is 'high' quality of course, but it is 'better' finished..

But I agree that for 17K you are perilously close to the Focus ST/Astra VXR, but then you'd have to consider the Megane R26 if 'owning' on the track is your top requirement.

As crap as the terrible Corsa of fail I had last week was I have to admit the finish of the interior suprised me. It was suprisingly good. The interior itself was poor, but the build was good.
