positives: economical, 4wd, awesome heated recaro seats, dobly surround sound, quite a rare car (~1000 built)

negative: front left coil spring broken, tracking is out (probably due to coil spring), stone chips half way up the bonnet having spent all its life storming up and down the autobahn, aircon needs new gas, and the 3rd brake light doesn't work.

apart from that, solid car. off to pick it up tomorrow, hopefully it won't blow up on the drive home :o
oh, and it comes with 2 sets of tyres (winter+summer), of which 6 are almost new

quite chuffed :)

nice choice, I thought you could only get 4wd leons abroad? Oh wait, I just noticed it's left hand drive :D

someone left the number plates in the tumble drier too long though :P

sorry, i really should have posted these pictures in the "shows us your cars" thread instead of cluttering up the board.. :o

off to norway for a year, so i thought 4wd might be handy for drifting round snowy mountain roads :D

Its only the haldex system from the A3, so not really suiting "4WD might be handy for drifting round snowy mountain roads". It will apply more power to the rears when slip is detected, but for the majority of the time, its essentially FWD.

yeh, it is basically fwd, but it's nice to have the security of 4wd

plus this cupra 4 has a much better spec than any other tdi 150s i had seen, and it's nice to have something rare and not the bog standard leon diesel.
and it has recaro bucket seats in the back too ;)

did you get it cheap becuase of the faults?

i managed to get €1,200 off his asking price, which happens to be 10%..
although it's not an awesome deal, it should more than cover the cost of repairing it.

no idea on the cost of a bonnet/bumper respray, but i'll leave it for now anyway, it's not urgent

Do I see a cruise control stalk there?

3rd brake light is a common failure, mine has gone also. Water seeps into the light unit and corrodes the circuitry. A new one is £67 (not fitted), and takes around 30 mins to fit.

you do indeed. i think this has every option except satnav
it's got the cd changer which takes up the whole glovebox too, which is annoying as i like to keep things in there..

Not come across a car that doesn't have that tbh.

You can get a "pocket" from SEAT that replaces the changer with a "hole". Not quite sure why anyone would pay for that privilage though :p

i like having my own car, although export plates and insurance cost €200 :(

it turned over 114,000km / 71250 miles on the test drive the other day, so it's only just run in ;)

only averaged 42mpg according to the computer, although the average speed was probably around 85 and it's still running on winter tyres. the needle hardly moved anyway

only one complaint, and that's the lack of a front arm rest.. slightly annoying on the motorway. apart from that, fantastic car. it's surprisingly quick in-gear on the motorway, with only a fraction of ankle movement needed to reach silly speeds
the pedals are perfect for heel-and-toe, which should be fun in norway..

good car, would recommend :D
