Too Human Demo on Live..

Most of the gear I've found looks bloody awful (just removes a section of the existing amour etc) but the rest of the game is good fun once the combat system clicks. Shame that 4 player co-op was dropped but 2 players romping through all the skill levels on this would be good fun.

Some of the stuff I have found is cool. Massive sword (2 handed), massive hammer (2 handed and FUN!!) and also some really neat helmets. I really wanted it colour coded to finish my look...then the demo ended :( As you can see, I was ready for more and that is why I will definately be buying this. :p

Managed to position a towel just right so I could play with my xbox today.. played through this, decent length demo and quite enjoyable.

I like how the loot is different each time, i played the beginning before but my xbox died about 20 mins in. This time I got some properly decent equipment, although the stuff for levels 10+ which you dont get to use is disappointing.

Game has promise I think.

OK so I played and finished the demo yesterday.

Was good fun, left me wanting more. One gripe I have with it is the graphics. They textures look flat like they have been drawn with pastels. I really noticed this on my main dudes armour.

HUD is... ugh. Why it has a curved effect like it's Halo3, GRAW I have no idea. I turned it off but then of course I had no idea how much health I had.

The screen where you add to your stats got me all confused and was a little too basic looking.

The gameplay itself is great. Like someone said, hack and slash with RPG elements.

The gameplay mechanics are more like the Diablo games which most people liken Too Human to, I'd tend agree with them. The loot system, skills trees etc

I dunno if PSO has the same kind of things going on as I played it for a few minutes and thought it was poop :(

After playing the demo for Too Human I'll definitely be picking it up at release, I really enjoyed it.

Not played diablo, but:

skill system = mags
loot system seems identical (item pickups, grinders) apart from very basic crafting

The little things you had above your character in PSO. You would feed them etc and then they would evolve at certain levels depending on how you fed them. I remember i ended up with the Pushan mag on my ranger class which was quite rare. They would allow you do special moves. Kinda like the battle cry in Too Human.

Ah I've never played that, thought it might have been a different game. That doesn't sound much like the too human system though.

Not directly but the mags had their own talent tree that was decided by how you fed them and what stat you increased. They would then evolve at certain levels and depending how they evolved. It would determine what special move you would get. The special move could then be used when you had enough "charge" from killing enemies or taking damage.

Too human is the same but does it in a different way thats all.

Sato for the win!

Their powers are like the battle cry and their levelling up are a bit like the skill points you choose to spend to augment your character.

Then PSO borrowed from Diablo :)

By the way, has anyone tried the other character classes in the demo? ;)

Right played through the demo, here are my thoughts:

  1. The camera controls are rubbish.
  2. Aiming with the gun seems random.
  3. The storyline is to my taste, but is at the same time cheesy and cringe-worthy.
  4. All I seemed to do is point RS in the direction of enemies and waited for them to die.
  5. Am I invincible? As soon as I die I respawn, where's the risk/reward balance?

So as you can see, it didn't do much for me, though to be fair hack and slashes aren't my kettle of fish.
