Cheapest 24'' NON TN panel

Hello,
As per title, I soon expect to get 270€ from my parents, along with a few bits and bobs and sales I can manage to get 320 euros I guess...
I'm looking to buy a 24'', what would be the one to go for, I'm tired atm with my TN panel ( viewing angles&changing brightness when I move my head upwards) and would like something of 8ms or less ( now I'm using 12 ms).

Is the OcUK Value L2442WD a reliable and good monitor? Are the specs accurate ( eg. the contrast ratio, resp. time, etc) and how would this be going from a dell 17'' ultrasharp TN screen ?

I play a lot of games ( 30 hours or more a week) and watch a lot of series and HD movies...

Are there any better value non TN 24'' ers out there ?
 
It's the cheapest non-tn panel by a mile, but some people are experiencing problems with getting them repaired in a reasonable time. If you get a decent one you'll be fine, but if it breaks down you're looking at up to 3 months repaid time currently.

OcUK are on the case and harranging the manufacturer.
 
I have been on the "submit" button to buy one of those a few times but the failure rate is way too high... not only that the mission is it to get it replaced.

I would save a bit more and get a reliable one.

How do you know the failure rate? Its probably no higher or lower than any other make. Just deal with overclockers rather than the manufacturer, and you will be fine.
 
Not withstanding any light literature to the contrary; in the first instance the RETAILER is responsible for any probs experienced within the guarantee period!
 
Problem is many more people with problems post than people happy. At the end of the day it's the only non-tn panel you can afford with that budget so it's either that or nothing.

Okay, so let's say it breaks down, will OcUK really need 3 months to get me a replacement if they find it's faulty or would they send me a replacement immediately from their stock ? I would not like to have to deal with some manufacturer that takes 3 months...
 
I have a Yuraku 24" - They were only ever made with MVA/S-PVA panels, have HDCP and are cheaper than the ocuk value, without the seeming huge failure rate.

As I posted in another thread:

I would recommend going for the OcUK 24" monitor. It's by far the best value 24" VA panel in the UK.

You will see that OcUK has dealt with the problems that everyone was experiencing with DGM (see last post on page 141 onwards).;)

I have had mine for about a month now and it’s been excellent.:D

Yeah, spot on. There's zero reason to buy the OcUK monitor when the Yuraku is cheaper, better specced, and doesn't have the high failure rate and abysmal RMA support of the OcUK. It's the best value monitor around by a mile, imo.

Another happy Yuraku 24" owner here :) Cost me (at current exchange rates) 250 euros including tax and delivery, and that was a couple of months ago.
 
Not only that, you'll have to send it back to the UK as you are from The Netherlands (me aswell). Have you looked at the pricewatch on tweakers.net for the prices in The Netherlands?

Yes, I was just saying the OcUK value one because there's a shop here that sells the same thing, I wouldn't have problems if it's borked and 6 euros postage instead of whatever ocuk will charge... I have thought about getting it from ocuk but the support has scared me away, I'm afraid I'll be stuck without a monitor for a while as 260€ is really a lot for me...



The Yuraku 24" ? What model is it so I can google it? I really want a good monitor.
I can strech now up to 360€'s, however would prefer not to, from what price do ''premium'' brands start selling VA panels ?

I recommend the Yuraku. PVA panel with HDCP. Can't go wrong.

You can get the Yuraku from £215 delivered. I bought mine for £203 delivered.

I've just found an IISONIC - IIM24WB for 220 euros + 5 euros 90 cents delivery, a quick google says it's a PVA screen and the site says it has 180 deg angles hor and vert, is this true? If so I'm thinking of buying one now.
