Gran Turismo 5 not even out before 2010.

Why do Sony fans want to stick their head in the sand about this news?

not sure what you mean - since I'm not particularly interested in GT5 this isn't major news for me. Obviously delayed games may affect people's perception of the Sony brand (as would delays for ms and nintendo) but there's a load of stuff out and coming out to be getting on with in the next few months :)

What the hell takes them so long. Surely the engine + physics etc of prologue will be the same. Heck the games mechanics have not changed since GT1. Surely it's just a case of adding tracks and cars.

Just been playing Forza 2 about 2 mins ago. It was a very good game when i look back on it, i wonder what Forza 3 would be like if it was made.

From all accounts it's coming along quite nicely and I was surprised it wasn't mentioned at E3.

Forza Motorsport's community manager Che Chou said:
"There's stuff being worked on here at Turn 10 that I simply can't talk about right now, but the progress we've made in the last six months has been absolutely incredible. The fact that we're working on our second game for Xbox 360 means our software architects have figured out ways to push the 360 in ways I didn't think were possible in terms of both visuals and performance."

"You'll pardon me if I sound a little excited, because, frankly, I'm frickin' psyched," he adds.

Some people call the tactics of EA but they get the job down and make money and sometimes push out some great games, Sony need to kick PD up the back side, GT5 is a console seller I bought the GT3 PS2 pack when it came out, I think it would sell a lot more consoles.

Sony are losing the touch making games so perfect that it takes years to come out rather than bashing a game together what is accepted as a good game not a masterpiece.

The 360 will have had Forza 2 AND 3 before GT5 is out.

Due to the number of cars and tracks included in the Forza 3 game, it will be sold as a 2-disc set,” the leaked material reads.

Specifically, the game it to included “highly detailed real-world car and track models (over 400 cars and 100 tracks),” and will cover a broad range of motorsports, such as “drag, drift, oval, point-to-point racing, etc.”

The documentation also states that Forza 3 will be a “highly accurate racing simulation, including real world damage.” That said, if you’re a bit rubbish at racing games, “a powerful assist system” is also to be included.

Exactly and it's not like GT fans don't have GT5P to be getting on with, the only people who seem to be making a lot of noise over this are the Xbox fanboys.

And don't forget the 360 is getting RacePro from Simbim too this year...

Veteran race developer Simbin has teamed up with Atari for its next game, the "ultra realistic" and rubbish-named Race Pro - and its exclusive to Xbox 360.

PC fans will no doubt be disappointed by the jump to console, but Race Pro's sounding decent at least; powered by SimBin's own physics engine Lizard, the developer promises "unrivalled realism" and "deep immersion", plus Xbox Live games for 12-players.

Going by its impressive past games, we've no reason not to believe SimBin won't deliver on its promises.

RACE Pro sounds like it ticks all the check boxes for realism obsessives, with WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) tourneys, Formula 3000 and Formula BMW included, plus motors from Aston Martin, Audi R8 and Dodge.

Additionally, RACE Pro is exclusively sporting all the WTCC cars from Alfa Romeo, BMW, Chevrolet, which we're has caused someone, somewhere out there to wee their pants a bit.

"Having personally taken the leap from 20 years of championship racing to racing simulation development, I am really excited for SimBin to be taking its own leap from PC to Xbox 360," said SimBin CEO Henrik Roos. "We are proud to be taking this significant move with Atari, our trusted partner since our very first game."

Race Pro is out in the autumn. Definitely one for racing fans to look out for this year.

I think it will be.

Forza Motorsport 3 is currently in development at Turn 10 and aiming for a spring/summer 2009 release.

Hmm, might get an Elite if this game is any good and if the save to hdd feature is working by then. I wont be selling my PS3 though lol.

Well the install to h/drive is coming this year.
Microsoft tend to keep to there release dates where Sony never do with anything.
Forza3 is said to be going to have 100 tracks and lots more cars than forza2.
That was the main problem forza2 got boring because of not enough tracks.
Also they will have learned a lot more about programming the 360 since forza2 so the third version should be better again.
Like yourself i will be keeping both consoles

Potential PS3 owners though have a right to be miffed at a game they want being put back.

So is this official or some cack dreamt up by joystiq?

Banned sites: These sites have all been banned for different reasons. When spelled correctly, these sites will show up as *******.

1. Joystik: Banned for misinformation -- You can post an article from here, be warned, it's probably not true.

Its a good hit generator for them i guess, no source, nothing official just oh we spoke to head of PD and he said it MIGHT not be here till 2010. Bit of a difference between might and wont be here till 2010, but i must have my head stuck in the sand to not take this is its not going to be out till 2010. My english comprehension must need work as might must be the same as wont now :)
GT5P is GT5 in an unfinished form the more they work on GT5P the more stuff is done for GT5, at least thats how i see it, they work on damage for GT5P well that means the damage model for 5 is in place etc etc. Does seem quite a few people get excited when a Sony game is delayed:confused:
