hi

i received my AC Ryan TWIN30 CCFL red Lights today. ive just installed them in my case but its only lighting up half the tubes, is this normal? if yes, how long does it take for it to fully light up?

i didn't drop or bashed them so maybe they got damaged in transit.

but the problem is the 4 pin plug was off when i opened the packageing so i found an old 4 pin plug and i put on the end the of wire. i did that because i just thought it was only that one thing that was wrong with it and i couldn't see the point sending it back just because the plug was off.

maybe ocuk won't accept it?

i don't understand why both tubes are only lighting up half way. i would understand if one lighted up more than the other.

they arent cracked are they?
nope

It uses a converter to AC (I think . . ) If only one side is plugged in then you only get light in the first couple of inches. Try swopping the tubes around / replugging them. You have connected the plug to +12v and 0v havent you?

from the inverter it as a (4pin MolexDuo male+female passthru power connector) but that connector was broken off so i put a new one on, then i connected 12v a molex plug (like the one u put the hdd/Optical Drive to power them) into the 4pin MolexDuo male+female connector..

Length : 300mm
- Voltage : 570 ± 40V
- Current : 3.5 mA
- Brightness : Over 20,000 ± 10% cd/m2
- Lifetime : Over 15,000 hours
- Input voltage : DC 12V (via 4pin molex connector)
- Output current : 2 outputs of 5mA each from inverter
- Advanced silent dual-driver inverter (with overheat protection / 4pin MolexDuo male+female passthru power connector)

So the connector came borked? If I was you I would have sent it back then rather than bodged it. If it still looks legit to the naked eye, send it back and don't tell them. :p

when i opened the packaging the connector was broken off the wire...i couldn't see the point sending it back just because the plug was off. but now the lights are faulty.

ive just tryed it on another system and it works . so now im confused why it don't work on my main system. my psu powers everything fine, the 12v line is running at the right voltage and the watts im using at full load is about 400w so its well under 900w so i know it's not a psu fault. i can't see whats the problem.

on the another system i connect the unit to a molex without any other things on it, so does the unit need to be connected to a molex without any other things on it (i.e hdd, dvd drive)?
