Questionable item? How well will it sell?
All I think of when I see these is piracy... :|

Not neccessarily, Many fully legal uses - most uses would be by small/medium businesses.

Previously I worked for a logistics company - and our customers used our labelling software to generate the labels for the goods we were shipping for them. The company I worked for did use these duplication towers to copy the software whenever any updates occured - typically when there were postcode schedule updates - and this was to copy 500 disks for our customers to update our software -this tended to be to be around every 2-3months - imagine copying 500 disks manually 1 at a time.

As stated other great uses are charity stuff / small business advertising catalogues! etc etc

Try sticking one in a laptop!

A full pc ( fair enough, 2nd hand and a bit older) with 2 dvd burners is still less...

But You would easily make a sempron 3000/intergrated gfx/512mb ram/cheapo 20€ case/ 2x15€ dvd burners pc for 120 €...

I have both the 1:1 duplicator and the 1:9. Definitely a time saver, even the 1:1 does it faster then a PC would and saves a lot of work!

As some other posters have stated, i didnt think there would be much of a market for these things...but hey, maybe i was wrong!

Nice to see Overclockers continually expanding their range though :)

How about a musician copying loads and loads of demo cd's etc. I used to do them on a 2 speed writer years and years ago. (And you had to test each disk or it would bin it!!)

Indeed, I remember my 2x writer, it was incredibly slow and even worse when it took a hissy fit at the media or because you'd had the temerity/stupidity to try to open another program at the same time which caused a buffer underrun. 30 minutes of holding your breath to try and burn one CD, kids these days don't know they're born.... ;)

Heh the good ol' days. I too had a 2x writer. I still these days refuse to open programs or use the machine whilst I'm burning anything to disc even though we've got buffer underrun protection and loads of other things, just purely out of habit :P
