McCanns going too far?

Thing I don't get is why this case was so high profile over every other missing persons case, which rarely get a mention. Is it a case of those who have money can 'make' these cases high profile thus making it much more important than everyone else's? If so, why should it be?

They are middle class white people with a reasonably cute daughter.

The thing that got to me was, the fund is way past the million mark is it not and some reporter today having spoken to one of them said something along the lines , without making a big deal that they were hoping people would still donate so they can still search for their kid. What exactly are they spending the money on to help finding their kid. AT what point are they just screwing around with "expenses" and making money off the fund and why are they still actively asking for money when they must have loads.

99% of the world realised the girl was dead months and months and months ago. IF she was kidnapped, then, whoever did it would realise very quickly he/she was utterly screwed if the kid was ever found with him/her and a dead kid buried in some forrest is harder to find than in your basement with your neighbours reporting crying. Kidnappers have no reason to keep someone alive after this long.

Still think they did something, on purpose, or by accident, got rid of the evidence and faked the whole going missing.

If that is the case, they must be saluted as the criminal masterminds of this century and the last.

Care to offer us a hypothesis? The sheer logistics involved in killing a child (despite not being the last people to spend time with her) and then concealing the body for nearly two years, are quite extraordinary to say the last.

Yes, but not every middle class person has the cash to throw around, or, do they?
Or, more importantly, I doubt many have the media contacts that they do. I have no idea how that happened, whether money was involved, or whatever, but high-profile publicists/spokesmen don't grow on trees.
