My selfish drunken pigs of neighbours are being evicted in two months due to excessive noise, violence, theft and drunken behaviour. I was about to go to bed and now they have kicked off with very loud music. They are directly above me and he noise is such it sounds almost like it is in my flat. Luckily the hifi has no bass. Not sure what to do, phone the Police again, as last time it was till 2.30 am on a wednesday which fighting ensued. Tis time no fighting, just excessivly loud music and some heavy stomping about and slamming of doors.

I have confronted him and explained he had better be quiet and not keep me up all night as I have to work early. He said he didnt care as he was being evicted in two months and the music got louder.

Should I phone the Police to report this as a disurbance (now getting louder jumping up and down sounds like) or not?

Yep, are you keeping a noise log (as most councils ask you to)? Normally just a quick note of the time it starts and ends. This can be used to bring someone to court.

Get that mental list down on paper, call your council's environmental health tomorrow and ask to make a complaint about the neighbour making noise out of hours. If they ask you to make a log, copy over your list onto it.

I wouldn't rely on his "I'm being evicted in 2 months anyway" statement.

Log writen, he is being evicted, as the Landlord told me after many complaints from others in the block.

Now should I call the Police?

Its still going on well off and on. Slamming of doors, no doubt as they go out and pillage the local offy for more supplies. Very unreasonable as I have to now shut my window and its boiling.

If it's anything like Bristol, the police will refuse to do anything unless the people are outside of their flat causing the disturbance. They'll just tell you to call the council noise line.

I miss the way noise complaints were dealt with where I come from. The police come within a timely manner and issue a warning. If they have to come back, they write a ticket for $xxx. If they have to come back again, they write an additional ticket for double the amount of the first one. I don't think it's too often they have to come back after that.

I think decorating the hi fi and then denying all knowledge would be a desirable option, otherwise just ride it out for the next few weeks or move out.

Well, I have just been threatened by one of them caled Chris, he banged on my door untill i awoke. I was dropping off and not really in a fit state to kill to be honest, so I simply reported this also to the police. Perhaps tomorrow I will kill.
