I worked in a supermarket the work was bloody hard and you had to pull your weight to get on, there's no room for slackers you get found out. Was one of the best jobs I ever had for team work and having a laugh. I'd do it again if I had to, just the pay isnt great.

It's pretty obvious from that statement alone that you feel menial work is below you and that you'd rather sit on your ass, don't get me wrong, I don't think it's wrong collecting (NI Based) JSA for a month or so looking for better work but to stay on it indefinitely until you find work that you consider not being below you is wrong, very wrong, people like that are scum in my eyes.

two wrongs don't make a right, just because someone does something worse than you does not mean what you are doing is not contemptible, were any other silly sausage on here with the same opinion as you he would get treated the same way (and heaven forbid one of the chav morons managed to access the forums!)

well, i'm getting bored of arguing with a lazy bum who's pilfering my hard earned wages, so my only suggestion is an hero, i'm also tired from doing a full days work (heaven forbid work being tiring
) and am going to go to bed, so i can enjoy my day off tomorrow to the max! (i imagine it gets boring doing nothing with your life, day in day out)

Iv been on the dole for along time now on and off, iv never worked (not on JSA right now), applied for lots of jobs only ever got 1 reply back, which was a no, even started including SAEs but still no replies... It is so frigging annoying when after you have spent time to send out an application form you get nothing back, not even a simple "no thanks". Hell one interview i got through the job centre you had to do 2 tests, i didnt even get to do those tests, so after a few mins of talking with the interviewer he said that he thought i was being forced into applying for the job so he wasn't going to give me a chance, which was complete ***** as it was me that asked the job centre for the application form for the job, but he couldn't get that through his head, anyways, there were people there at that interview that just about speak a few words of English they to never did the tests, they just got given the jobs, makes you feel great does that...
This work for the dole scheme, could help get me out of that rut forcing me to actually get off of my arse and do something, if it is related to what kind of job i want to do, that way it actually gives you a little experience towards getting the job you want, If it was walking around the streets picking up rubbish, cleaning graffiti then tbh they can go **** themselves, im pretty sure that there are people out there that would love a full time job like that but can't get one for some silly reason, and forcing it on people on JSA is just rubbing it in their faces.
Another good thing, for people like me who left school with no GCSEs or anything is to try and get them on some kind of course to help get them 1 or 2 GCSEs, which would hopefully help towards getting a job, Found that when you're on JSA you can actually get a grant from the OU and do some courses with them, it has the added bonus of doing the work at home, so when i go back onto the dole i will be doing that...
And i know im going to get called scum and whatever from people on here but ohwell

Why do you think they cut council workers binmen cleaners etc etc wages recently well because they are going to get people to do it for benefit lol.

No private firm in it's right mind will sign up for this,If it passes it will fail chavs just wont work hard picture a chav picking up 1 empty coke can per 2 hours and you get the picture.

I think some people don't know what the benefits trap is ?
I thought it was that you'd have to have a job paying a certain amount just to cover what JSA and housing benefit currently covers.
So a lot of unskilled people simply cannot even pay their rent on minimum wage let alone rent food bills transport etc etc ? especially in london rent is cheaper up north so it's really tough luck if you live in london.
How much is the average bedsit/1 room in london these days ? £100-£120 a week ? so that will leave you with about £40 a week to pay for everything council tax food transport fuel bills clothes.
So as you can imagine if you have a flat you simply cannot work for minimum wage and continue to live in that flat christ council tax is practically £20 a week alone and fuel bills are going to rise up to 60%.
Also many unskilled low minimum wage workers are likely to have gas and electricity pre pay meters which charge the maximum amount you are probably looking at £30 a week for just gas and electricity as well.
My opinion is that there's far too many badly paid jobs out there that is the real problem people simply don't want to work on a static £5 an hour wage.
Fair enough if the wage can rise if you do well but the vast majority of these jobs do not offer that.
