Roulette Machines

Can't tell if you know but this doesn't include the fixed odds betting terminals that you get in most modern bookies, with roulette, blackjack etc

It does simply because of the very nature of the two games you mentioned - the house will always have the advantage no matter what you do and by setting the rules, the bookie can determine exactly what the house edge will be (or in the case of blackjack, the minimum house edge).

Fruit machines gambling machines should in reality be illegal because they are rigged for you to lose.

Only way to make money on Roulette is stacking bets, and the minimum and maximum bet amounts spoil this, the run of losses needed to destroy you is surprisingly short due to exponential growth.

"heh" @ that thread.

And "heh" @ anyone who thinks they have a system or have spotted a pattern in roulette, either mechanical or electronic.

If it's mechanical then the variables are into the realms of chaos. For electronic it's likely to be a simplistic random number generator with a seed taken from a random non-repeating event (such as the date+current milliseconds), so even if you had access to the software, it still wouldn't do you any good.

That's if they aren't rigged of course.

:)

If you're betting on the same clour and doubling your bet each time you are playing a very risky game. I did it a couple of times starting with £50 and a starting bet of £1. You really dont need to hit the "other" colour that many times before you bust out. Its as good a tactic as any simply because there is no tactic that "gauarntees" a win.

If you are playing online casinos blackjack is a better option simply becasue it is at least slightly interactive and your actions can affect the outcome.

How can you beat roulette even on a real table? Any bet you make on a roulette table is -EV.

few ways - one is via noting a bias in the roulette tables over consecutive spins - might have worked 100 years ago but doesn't now as manufacturing has improved and casinos move the tables around every so often just in case.

the others involve timing or tracking the ball & doing this can involve quite elaborate setups - hidden earpieces, mobile phone/pda with software or even lazer for tracking etc...

basically you can roughly model the ball and reasonably estimate the sector it will land in then place bets at the last moment accordingly

given that this has already been done in the ritz in London & the casinos are aware of it your chances of getting caught are fairly high

Roulette really is a mugs game. I worked in Ladbrokes for a while and have seen some serious money wasted. Blackjack is much more statistically favourable, but even then of course, long term you will lose out.

This is true and is one of the reasons why in most casinos mobiles are banned at the tables. The people who did that must have been very clever, but pushed their luck too far and made it obvious that they were cheating. I think that they were allowed to keep the money (cash, but there may have been a cheque that got cancelled) because it was ruled that they weren't influencing the odds of where the ball landed - they were just able to roughly predict where it would land in order to tilt the edge in their favour.

I use to work in the bookies, so seen them being played all the time. As I worked for the bookies, I wasn't allowed to play them but the minute I left the company, I was on them and won quite a bit. They can be ok, but as they are a machine its not as good as playing the real thing.

yep - they walked away with about a million or so

police investigate the incident and found that no UK laws had been broken as they didn't interfere with play

electronic devices are however illegal in the US casinos & you'll prob be caught and asked to leave pretty soon in the UK anyway - still just goes to show that the game can be beaten

I usually have a £5-10 spin if I'm in the bookies for any reason.

This kid I know used to have some sick spins, talking like £100 a time. Best spin I ever saw someone do was £40 on black and a tenner on 0 it dropped in, the lad was smiling as soon as it set off 'cos he could tell where the ball would land due to the spin animation.

Are the machines in Ladbrookes and Coral random every spin?
