What were the reasons behind buying your 360,wii or ps3?

I bought a PS3 last year because I've been a playstation whore since I've been gaming and I knew I would get one at some point so I took the chance while the last 60GBs were still around. I thought I was buying it for MGS4, final fantasy and GTA4. Obviously only one of them is still exclusive now! :o

So after hearing the news that my most anticipated game (FF) is now going to be on the 360 and plus seeing a great deal for a 360 premium and most of my friends having 360s! I took the plunge and bought one last week. It was delivered today, but I'm at work and can't play on it :(

Now I can say whatever I like about either console without fear of being labelled a fanboy, because I own both! :p :D

I got a Wii the first week it came out because it just seemed different. Now it just seems different but in a bad way, but it has introduced gaming into our house and I am now pushing to get a 360 under the tv so all is good.

The Wii is ok but just ok it hasn't blown me away but it is a lot of fun from time to time.

Got my 360 cause my PC had died a few months before hand i didnt have the money to upgrade to the spec i wanted so got the 360,

Got the Wii on a drunken trip to blockbuster to rent a movie and ended up coming home with a Wii :o

Must have been a hangover :/

Mostly I wake up to the smell of fags and beer

In order:

360: Had a PC monitor to plug it into, craved Test Drive Unlimited, and also liked the option of flashing the drive.

Wii: Saw it, thought the family (dad, bro sis in law) would love it over christmas (one before last)

PS3: Owned a HDTV at this point, wanted a HD media hub, and its such a cool gadget!

Primarily now i buy multiplat games for the PS3 that will require extra HDD space or that my bro might be interested in playing (he has one for his family) all the rest i play on 360 (easier ;) ). The wii hasnt been turned on since... way back when.

360: Because it was the only next gen console... queued up for 12 hours for one, wasn't expecting to like it so much

PS3: Again, becuase it was 'new' and I wanted to play all the next gen games, Imported a US model, then sold and got a UK 60Gb

Wii: Just wanted one, liked the idea of Wii Sports and tbh I prefer my very young kids playing on it as it's more 'physical' and they don't get hooked on it..

As I've don't have the time anymore, the PS3 has been sold due to lack of use, the 360 is my main games console, the Wii is for the family/occasional laugh with mates.

Bought a 360 at launch because I loved my Xbox and wanted Gears of War, sold it when it didn't come up with any games I was interested in (apart from geometry wars).

Bought a DS for FFIII and my wife wanted Pokemon, looking forward to FFIV in August :D

Bought a Wii because I had a lot of Argos vouchers and couldn't see anything else I particularly wanted, wish I'd gotten a few kitchen appliances now :/

Bought an Elite so I could finally play Gears of War, damned 360 has taken over my life :(:D

Bought a 360 'cos I loved the original Xbox, wanted to play Halo3, loads of mates owned one, and I love the games available and lined-up.
(I was late getting one, February this year!)

Xbox 360: The Playstation 3 seemed a million miles away and I wanted a "next gen" console right away. I bought it a couple of months after release as everyone was raving about it. It was a great decision and I'm very glad I bought it.

Nintendo Wii: I wanted something to play with my girlfriend. To be honest, I was also got caught up in the hype. I've been thinking about selling because of the disappointing games catalogue.

Sony PSP: The thought of a games/video/internet machine seemed like a brilliant idea. Football Manager was a lot of fun but most of the games were rehashes of things I already had on my PS2. I sold it eventually.

Nintendo DS: Bought it to replace my PSP and did so mainly because I love the Advance Wars series of games. Very happy with it.

Wii

Bought at launch to mess around with this here waggle business (was also cheaper than 360) and got tons of fun from it for a few months but now it sits idle, last game in it (might still be in it) was No More Heroes.

360

Bought in March 2007 build up of games was getting too much to bear, Gears of War, Crackdown, Dead Rising etc.

PS3 (60gb)

Bought when the 40gb PS3 launched out of fear the 60gb units would disappear fast, I was right.....

Wii - The missus wanted one, I fancied playing Zelda and Wii Sports. Still gets played by her quite often with family and friends.

PS3 - Bought it cheap after a mate had it with a mobile phone contract. Mainly wanted it for BR, but will probably get games for Christmas or secondhand.

360 - Not got one yet but may be tempted because my brother-in-law buys a game a week meaning I could have them after he is finished with them.

DS - Again, the missus wanted it.

I bought a 360 as it was just way cheaper then the constant cycle of expensive PC upgrading. I thought the 360 mutiplayer and Live was just what i was looking for, quick and easy. I bought the 360 to game and not tweak so its ideal for swtich on and play. Now I can game and play all my movies on it and stream my pc content! awesome

360 - got a good price + guitar hero 3. In truth i think it was a mistake as all the aparent "exclusives" seem to come to the pc anyway
wii - something to play with friends + gf obsessing over wii sports (then i bought it and she played it 3 times total!!)

My previous consoles were a Gamecube and a N64 so i had my mind on getting a wii. Found it impossible to to find a Wii for Christmas so ended up getting a 360 in December 06 (which was a surprise as i thought the xbox 1 was a load of crap). Gears of war was also a huge factor in buying it. Even though the 360 was my second choice initially i am now glad i did get it. I managed to get my Wii in the end for the Nintendo first party titles but they seem few and far between. Infact i would say i play more gamecube games on my Wii then i do Wii games! Also bought my Nintendo DS the day they were launched. Infact i got mine early by getting it directly from Nintendo using the VIP program. I use it a lot during tea breaks at work.

I brought my PS3 because I wanted a high def player and the only other choice at the time was a Toshiba thing that wasn't much differernt cost wise !
The games came as a bonus :)

Brought a 360 thought it was good but after the lack of family entertainment on it and the fact the DVD broke twice I traded it in for the PS3 as I wanted BR and felt that the console would be more family friendly. Although the BR is great Sony haven't really pushed the family entertainment so I grabbed a Wii early this year.

Now I find the PS3 is used more by the family, with GH, Singstar & Buzz and the Wii is left gathering dust :-/

I bought the 360 at release time, purely because i wanted something new to entertain me over the holidays, and i was bored of my Xbox and PS2.
