Siren: Blood Curse

Yep either buy the chapters individually at £4.99 each, or all four chapter together for £19.99.

I enjoyed the demo, but as there's no price difference I will buy the chapters seperately so I can grab them as and when I want so I can fit them inbetween other games :)

I normally prefer physical media but like the idea of small one of payments as and when I want, that way not wasting money if the game doesn't grab me.

it will also save you 3p!

The demo is too dark, is stupidly short and has REALLY bad controls and camera angles. However, the graphics are fantastic, it looks generally well polished with a nice menu and quick loading times. The gameplay looks fun although you don't get to experience enough to really tell.

ARGH, not sure what to think. I will probably buy it in sections so I can see if I like it or not.

EDIT: Looks like there is only 2 hours of gameplay in the entire thing. No chance in hell that's worth £20. I will give this one a miss.

The controls are weird and take a while to get used to, but they are that way intentionally to add to the atmosphere. Camera I don't have problem with tbh.

2 Hours is wrong, I believe the first episode is just over 2 hours, then the remaining 3 episodes are slightly longer (3+ hours each) totalling roughly 12 hours long in total. Unless I'm mistaken but I'm sure that's what I read not long ago. Just checked the review and the 1st episode contains 3 chapters which goes, chapter 1 = 15mins, chapter 2 & 3 = 40mins each so an hour and a half in total but the first chapter in just an introduction where as I sure the remaining chapters in episodes 2-4 are all around the hour mark each in length. That being the case the full game being say between 10-12 hours long, which doesn't seem to bad for £20.

I don't buy into all this "it was intentional too add to the atmosphere" rubbish. They always make excuses as the why games are not quite their best, try and cover it up and make it should like a feature rather than a failure. The controls are crap and that's that! :p

Ah, my bad! I must have misread what it said in the review in the OP. I thought it was talking about episodes being 40 mins each, not each chapter! So yea, not as bad!

Fair enough, but you would have to agree it seems rather strange to have one attack button as the square & the other one as the R1 button?

I still need some courage to bring myself to play the demo, I turned it off after loading because it was so dark. :(

Remember that banned scene in th exorcist where the devil girl is crawling down the stairs backwards with her head twisted round? They have zombies in siren that do that. Yea, I'm totally not playing this game at 3am in the dark. :D

The spiderwalk!? I tried that hammered! Never again.

My PS3 is costing me a lot of money lately! Bought Uncharted last week and finished it in a few days, then Echochrome, then Ratchet & Clank on Monday, and now I'll be getting this. Glad in a way though, means the PS3 was definitely a worthwhile purchase.
