Problems with drivers door on 51 Punto

Really stragne problem here relating to my sisters 51 Punto.

Last night I closed the door, locked it, walked away. This morning my sister goes to open the door and it will only open half way then just jams/siezes/definitely will not open any further!?!?

There are no new dents or marks or scratches on the door so it's not been it or damaged at all, and it worked fine last night. I can't see anything in the door hinges or odd like that, when closed the shut lines are the same on both doors. It's just odd! You can just about see the hinges on the A Pillar flexing so pulling the door open I don't think is gonna help. And I tried slamming it to 'loosen' something up, but nothing

Luckily it opens enough to squeeze in through but only just!

Any clues or ideas to free it up?

you're telling me, I was only in the car to check why it was running with almost zero coolant in it

Might be the checkstrap getting stuck?. Can you unbolt it from the door pillar at all?.

sounds like the checkstrap has siezed. but then it will do that if you don't grease it like your supposed to.
