Destination Gibraltar, satnav sends Syrian to Skeggy

yeah saw this too, its not even the same country!!! there's also been reports of satnavs causing accidents!! What so these things can drive your car now give me a break if people cant use these things or use a bit of forward planning they deserve to be led up a one way street.
 
I don't think the Satnav was the problem. It looks like the driver seen "UK" on the docket and headed for England, probably thinking that Gibraltar was a town in mainland Britain.

As it says in the article, he probably didn't even turn the satnav on until he landed on British soil.
 
...his delivery docket said UK, so he would probably have known how to get to the UK and wouldn't have even turned the sat nav on until he was in England.

I just don't understand why people rely on them so much and then blame them.

Like the daft old git who drove onto a railway! Then everyone went wild and wanted to ban Satnav machines!
 
I find it's best to plan my main route to my destination and use the satnav around local roads to be honest. Mine has tried to take me up footpaths and all sorts before while out in the sticks :eek:
