About fixing the connection, just tell your GF:

"Wont be long love, probably just needs me to have a waggle round in her socket, should be back in half an hour"

Send a few more texts and then give your phone to a good friend and ask them to bring it round to you once you are with your girl friend, that way it looks like it was a wind up, but he put the wrong name.
 
As innocent as this is, any rational female will see this as disastrous and you'll pay a heavy price for being a helpful chap. She won't understand, she won't listen so you can't make her understand, just lie through your teeth, blame your mates and head off down the pub.

The stars cover his new coworker's name, so if her name is Julia, say - and the text said 'hi liz i'll be coming round tonight to sort you out' she might not expect the sorting out to be for her... and may also find this a little disheartening.

Seriously though, just tell her the truth. Tell her where you're going, tell her she can come with you and that you can go out someplace afterwards. If she still makes a fuss tell her she's dumped and find out if the new girl likes you or not.
 
As it's just an innocent mistake don't bother going to any great lengths to sort it like some here suggest, really anyone who takes stuff like that the wrong way only reflects badly on them, people like that need to get a grip.

My heart goes out to you! I've done something like that before, although somehow managed to get away with it getting out of hand!! :)

She was the kind of girl that would mental and I would have to put up with her throwing a plate or another household object at me!
