Painful/involuntury reaction sounds?

I know a lot of you have seen the South Park episode called the Brown Note where a certain note (on the recorder!) makes everyone poo themselves.

Anyway, the brown note is actually an urban myth, but I was wondering if there are any real sounds that cause headaches/vomiting/pooing/other stuff. I'm not planning on torturing anyone, I just find this sort of thing interesting and remember hearing they actually have certain sounds they play in bank vault that cause headaches/vomiting

- but can not find any information at all!

Also, if you search for "danley matterhorn" in google and youtube you will see that recently the US have comissioned a huge sub the size of a shipping container that is stupidly powerful - I'm guessing it will be non-leathal weapon?

I once had a friend faint in class whilst messing with the sound wave oscillator (part of our A levels physics work). He was messing with a sine wave at a very high frequency. He just dropped on to the ground and the first aiders had to salt him to wake him up.

No other logical explanation to why he just dropped cold.
We wanted to try that wave again but was subsequently refused by out physics teacher.

There is an mp3 ring tone you can get that only teenagers can hear and aparently, so my daughter says, its quite painful after a while and amusing for me. You can play it to warn them off, as over a certain age you can not hear it.

Not sounds, but certain things on the vision side of things can make people who suffer from epilepsy go.

Apparently a low F# (not sure which one) induces orgasm in women. Pretty sure it's an urban myth but it didn't stop me buying a bass.

The 'Mosquito' is a device that emits a high frequency sound that only young people can hear and is deigned to stop people congregating in certain areas. I wouldn't say it makes you ill or anything but it is quite anoying, I can hear them. It's sort of like the sound CRT TV's (50/60 Hz ones) make when they are turned on but more anoying.

Happy: The matterhorn is insane, it's louder at over 100meter away than a PA system would be at 1meter away. I'm sure it could vibrate apart a house!

Not heard of this before but I know frequencies around 2k can be pretty painful as our hearing tend to be most sensitive in this area. Either that or the sounds triggered some sort of reaction...

Not just teenagers, children and babies can hear this also. Basically you start loosing your hearing as soon as you are born, and you lose the high frequencies first, so if you play a high frequencey (eg 18KHz) only people under a certain age will hear it, but it also varies a little from person to person. You could make that ringtone slightly lower and only people under 50 could hear it, but you tend to get more variations the older you get...

Low F# you say? I've got a 6ft high PA type sub and a synth, I'll have to try getting a young lady to to sit on the sub next time I go for a jam.

Wasn’t this on Brainiac? With Richard Hammond testing a sound clip which was said to make you poo, he tested it using a group of people and it didn’t work?

This sort of thing happened once during a Biology lesson using some quite high (but audible) bleeping things. They were all going "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" and he just suddenly keeled over, and came around about a minute later.

As far as I'm aware a certain frequency of sound will cause your bladder opening to oscillate and you will end up with small drips of wee in your panties.

I didn't mention that as I thought my phrasing would mean "we have explored and found no other logical" - poor phrasing on my part. Anyway, he had a normal breakfast e.t.c no dizziness, not diabetic e.t.c

He's fit as a fiddle. Just need to find that pitch again and try an experiment with him

It's a terrible thing. It actually perforated my eardrums. You just hear this loud...noise. I was on the bus passing by Sainsbury's where they had it. Thing is, it was during the middle of the day when the kids are at school and all the University students are going to lectures - but it's only sometimes on when there are kids around. Rubbish.

You can block out the mosquito noise by playing back the sound on your phone in anti-phase which will cause destructive interference eliminating the sound.
