I'd appreciate some input from people who own/have owned these, or are experienced triatheletes. I've been getting into triathlons lately (more strictly duathlons as I'm not running properly yet), and I'm getting to the point where I want to consider getting a proper bike for it.

I'm a big fan of Bianchi bikes, but am happy to look around.

I saw this, which looks attractive because of the price, but I'd much rather Campagnolo groupsets, and of course the frame isn't entirely carbon so I've virtually ruled it out.

This also took my fancy until I saw the groupset. I've never heard of Felt but that doesn't mean they're not a good make.

So over to you guys :).

Basically - I'd prefer Campagnolo groupsets, and the frame needs to be all carbon.

Not your preferred group set but I would get this

Specialized Transition Pro : £2700

FYI Felt are very nice bikes.

edit: lol at the scrimping on that Felt, gorgeous bike and then they put an Ultegra chain and cassette on it.

Aye I went to the site its hosted on and it doesn't look to be that good a deal overall :/.

Still, Felt are good are they? I might go see if I can try one out this weekend.

man specialized bikes looks sooo tacky, could they make them any more of a eyesore?? Take off all those "Specialized" labels and far more classy.

The geometry of a tri bike is designed to be very fast, but to also place less stress on the muscles which will be used for the next stage of the race, running.

Platypus

Am in similar situation to you (well I'm looking for a tt bike) but historically prefer Campag over Shimano (don't know why but maybe I'm a secret Campag fanboy lol)

I've found theres not many off the shelf examples using Campag groupsets, mainly Shimano or a mix of Shimano and other

Planet-X do full carbon frame, Dura ace group inc carbon clincher or tubular wheels with 50cm rim depth for arround £2k but you can buy the carbon frame for £630 and wheels £630 and buy Campag groupset yourself and build yourself ?

The Planet-X pro carbon frame was used by some tour de france pro's not long back and is used by many tt's throughout the world inc some big names in triathlons, it offers amazing value for money
More pics here, link below bottom of page then click on thumbnails for larger pics, the blue bike has the pro carbon 50 wheels on, awesome looking machine if ever I saw one

Awesome post ten. My only hesitation about buying a bike from wiggle is I can't trial it first. Definitely worth investigating though - thanks.
