Grounds for complaint to water board?

Second time this has happened in 2 weeks.

As you can see, the water is discoloued. Last time it only lasted for an hour but it's been this colour for about 2 hours now.

I think my supplier is Northumbrian Water but not sure :confused:

You're in Middlesbrough same as me, mine was like that as well a few days ago. My next door neighbour claims NW are performing maintenace on their filter systems or something to that effect, and as such we are to experience lesser quality water for a certain period of time.

Give them a few days to sort it out, I bet they're inundated with the same complaint form everyone.

We didn't have any notice of this planned maintenance

Guess i'll have to hang on for a bit then.

It can't be that bad, as you can't tell from the picture that there's anything wrong.

That's not to bad imo.

When it get's discoloured around here it looks like poo ravaged water, dark brown ugliness.

Normally it's pure white. You can see the brown tinge.

Exactly, it's a slight tinge. I've seen a lot worse come out of a tap.

If worried give them a ring to check and see what's going on.

I'm guessing they're doing something to one of the main pipes near you and possibly disturbed some harmless sediment.

Well, 100% clear then

I've spoke to my mate who lives a few streets away and his water is exactly the same, so it's a big problem which I assume they'll know about without me ringing up and complaining.

Will just let them get on with it. I've bought some big bottles on mineral water anyway as that's all I drink really.

I wasn't informed either but one of my wifes friends husband's brothers got a letter through saying there was maintenance being done and to expect slight water discolouration.

Might as well if you look at your tap water.
I remember I complained to the water company once because "I scalded myself and got shampoo in my eyes you idiots"

A main water pipe had burst and caused a massive drop in water pressure, so boiling hot water trickled out of my shower and burned me causing my to open my eyes. I washed the soap off with a cold tap and straight on the phone.
