mp3 cutting tools

Just wondering if any of you know any good fee/open source cutting.editing software for mp3 files so I can upload them to my phone. My previous Samsung phone supplied software for it and was great, but now I got a Sony Ericsson and reformatted the pc and I've lost the samsung software so I'm a bit stuck as I want to get some good ringtones on my phone etc etc.

If thats all you want it for audacity is fine.
Tbh though, why not just put the whole song on there, I find it sounds a bit wierd when you cut into the middle of a song straight away? Which is what I assume you want to do.

I made this with audacity from The View's "Don't Tell Me."

The lyrics work quite well for what it's being used for.

I use a combination of mp3splt and Audacity.

Or if i want to clip and rejoin mp3's you can use mp3wrap

I think thats a bit tacky because of the lyrics and what it's being used for.
My opinion though.

Audacity is a good bit of software but it doesn't compare to the big boys like logic and cubase.

Another vote for Audacity.

You'll need to download the lame mp3 .dll file and tell Audacity it's there when you're encoding to MP3 (unless they've changed that since, I haven't used Audacity in months)
