Which Brand Filter should i go for?

I am looking for a good Circular Poleriser to go on my 17 - 40 L Lens... I have been looking at getting a B+W Slim Circular Poleriser. Is this a good choice?

If you have treated yourself to a lens, the quality of a 17-40L i would certainly be looking towards the respected manufacturers e.g. Hoya.

Don't do what i did, i have myself a £5 jobbie off the bay, called SAKAR. Doesn't have anything like the effect i had hoped for.

No CP to fit that lens will be cheap and certainly not a B+W one. If you don't mind paying for it then by all means go with the B+W, alternatively the Hoya Pro-1s are pretty good.

There is a brand out there who's name I forget that are basically Hoya for the Japanese market, you can pick them up on ebay for about half the cost of a Hoya in the UK.

I Think i will go for H+W as i read they are better than the Hoya Pro as i believe the Hoya Pro can lack in sharpness compare to the H+W.

All the zooms other than the 70-200 f/4s and the new version of the 16-35 f/2.8 are 77mm. The primes vary although the 300 f/4 and 400 f/5.6 are also 77mm.

And a lot of other lenses will be smaller such that a step up ring is appropriate.

B&W would be my recommendation.
