Hey all,

Firstly sorry to post in this section, but I need to give my friend an answer on this ASAP, and the TV forums are a bit slow moving!

My friend is wanting to sell his 26" Sony KDL-S26A12U TV, he are offering it to me for £200.

It is 26" HD Ready with HDI Port, No dead pixels, no problems with it, but no warrenty due to it being a few years old.

I have been looking at a cheap 22" Hyundai so far at £150, so this is not to far to go, do you think this is a good offer?

Thanks,
Jcb33.

The TV is years old, only HD ready, low contrast ratio etc basically its all old tech for an LCD, the site on Google is very very overpriced.

Well what could I get equivalent.... My budget is £200, not more as this is already pushing it up £50...

The one I was looking at before was 22", 1000:1 Contrast, 160/160 Viewing Angle, HD Ready £150, but its a TV/Monitor Combo with poor sound quality.

I thought this was going to be the "the volume control doesn't work, but for that price you can't turn it down" joke :o

In any case, as others have said, sounds a little high but not ridiculous.

£200 isn't high at all, 26" Sammys cost £360.

Maybe it's high if your used to crappy brands like techwood, but quality brands cost more money.

So I would be good to say yes to this? My only real concern is the lack of Warrenty, but I have seen it working, and it is a very nice screen, runs games with no ghosting etc :)

Well he has just purchased a 40" Toshiba so needs to make some money back from that, and he was wanting £250 for it to start with but knocked it down to £200 for me...

Difficult call as should something go wrong it would cost you A LOT to fix it especially with Sony, I would be quite wary buying a big TV without warranty.

Its coming up 3 years old now, but new it costs at least £400ish and has only a 1 year warranty, but as you say if something goes wrong thats £200 + repair costs...

Sorry but no retail shops sell this TV its very old tech, only dubious ones, you can get better deals I wouldn’t buy the TV.
