Didn't believe PC gaming was dying until...

I thought PC gaming was in a state, till i loaded up Mass Effect and Grid, and laughed at how much better they are than their console counterparts.

The PC is starting to comfortably stretch its legs in front of consoles again, should be a good winter for the PC.

I agree, about 3 years ago i think it would have been, i cancelled plans for a new pc build as i thought it was going out the window. I ended up buying an Xbox 360, and lately i purchased a ps3 aswell.

I hardly ever play the ps3 and only on the Xbox to play my driving games. Im getting back into pc games now, once i have settled into my new job im going to build a new system to play games again.

The PC will always come out on top as it's the only constant and evolving platform for gaming there is.

whats wrong with a bus simulator, i mean theres a flight simulator where one flies from city to city in a passenger jet? whats difference?

Surely the fact there is such wide variety in the bus simulator field shows how diverse and alive pc gaming is?

valve's retail sales are up 10% this year. Valve's 'alternative' sales (cybercafe's and steam mostly) are up 100%. Retail is dying, PC games are not.

Exciting stuff. What's next? School janitor simulator? Garbage collector: the game? I guess it could be a good gift if you know someone who is a real bus driver, just incase they can't cram enough of sitting in a tiny cubicle, driving at break-nothing speeds and being held at knifepoint by chavs and ****** into their normal 9-5 day.

trashman has already been made

I fail to see how this is any differant to rail sims, i dont like railways or trains a great deal so seems as equally mind numbing yet have been around for a few years before this!

Its not the sim games per-se, its the quality that is bad (imo). Similiar to all these Tycoon clones kicking around. Many are sub-standard, just riding on the success of one or two better ones.

Tbh, if a Bus/Truck/Ship simulator came out with the same depth and polish as say MS Flight Sim and mod friendly as it, then I'd be pretty excited....speaking of MS, the only sim that looks like it will be amazing is their upcoming Train Sim.

Yes, but i dont think Bus/Truck/Ship appeals as much as a Flight Sim. MS Flight Sim has done so well due to its realism, no end of addons and no real competitors.

this **** just got real.

but seriously, no consoles have a wider target audience than PC gaming. which is a good thing.

called bagger simulator

Yeah I know. I felt violated just being there. I'm pretty sure they think all that pcs are used for is chess simulators and solitaire.

Don't you just love how pc gaming lets you live out your wildest fantasies and most surreal adventures...

The boys in the purple shirts don't even mention gfx capabilities until asked and then they have to go and "find out" only to say the graphics are o"on board".

"Brilliant give me 4 gig ram and a Quad core processor but a ATI M120X gfx chip." :p
