I inherited a brick built bbq when I bought my flat but the grills & carcoal tray were rusted & unusable. The big DIY centres like B&Q and Homebase used to sell the grill sets but now no-one seems to do them. Really annoying as the bricks were always the most expensive bit of the built in barbie!

Does anyone know where I can get a set of grills for a brick bbq?

Thanks

For the grill we used one off our oven the steel charcoal sheet you should be able to improvise.

I'd imagine it would be more tricky to find one that fits as well. Unless there is some sort of standard size brick BBQ regulation.

try local blacksmith (yellow pages) they should be able to make up something that will be made to fit and last loads of burgers and buns :D

Get out....

Everyones got a gas BBQ in their kitchen, why bother having on in the garden!

They have? I've got a gas cooker but I'm not about to slap a steak and a few sausages straight onto the hob!

I like the idea of a gas bbq, the instant nature of it & the convinience, but is a gas bbq a 'proper' bbq?

A quick Google search reveals a few places to buy replacement grills but I don't know if they are suitable sizes for you and might require a bit of rebuilding of the barbeque itself.

I'd second the blacksmith idea for a basic tray to keep the coals in, it shouldn't cost much to get them to knock one up or you could even do so yourself if you have access to a decent welder and metal.

//edit I believe that the World barbequing championships take place on gas barbeques so they are good enough to pass muster and infinitely easier to control.

That's as bad sa saying "you can buy some M3 badges for your 316"

since when were gas "barbeques" invented recently?

People dont like the gas BBQ as it isn't the same as a real BBQ flames etc.
That is what people thought when the BIC first came out wasn't like a real pen, could do same job but just wasnt the same.

Never said gas BBQ were invented recently did I ?

what is wrong with having a brick structure and the gas griddle ??? cant really see your point??
