Today I took some games in for a cash swap, And I could not believe the offers!

Mass Effect - £3
Lost Odyssey - £5
Halo 3 - £4
Oblivion GOTY edition - £8

As I said, I never bothered in the end, Seriously not worth it. I'd be much happier keeping them and playing them in the future.

These offers were from who I would consider the most respectable console sales companies out there, wasn't a shady shop.

I can't get over mass effect

yeah trade in values are really low, mainly because games can be found for so cheap and also because I think a lot more titles are being traded in now a days for a number of reasons. That being said I got £28 for Ninja Gaiden 2 a few weeks a go :)

That is a joke. I use a local exchange shop (which is part of a chain) and their cash/voucher values are really good.

EDIT: Actually on Mass Effect it isn't that great. £7 cash or £10 voucher.

Games are only worth trading in when they are still fairly new and can't be had cheaper than £35-ish. After that it's not worth it at all.

cash trade ins are never worth it, you will get more for store credit though thats not worth it most of the time either :D

sell privately if you can, then my next option would be ebay. trade-ins are just convenience but you usually get much less

the thing is, if your going to go down the trade in route you have to complete the game ASAP after buying on release date to get even close to a decent price

It's to exploit kids who have no income. They will trade in a few good games to get a new one without their parents finding out

Trade in values are a lot better than cash values, my cousin traded in all his PS2 games and his PS2 a while back and got a 360 with 2 new games which is worth it.

I just keep my games now as it takes me ages to complete any game by the time its done it'll only be worth a few quid. Best thing to do is sell them on auction sites or e-tail marketplaces.
