Went a bit mad on the last hole, tryin for the BIG finish. Not too bad for a first game? Definatley found my new hobby. :D

119 is a very respectable score for your first round just stick at it :)

I see you Par'd the 14th, a very mean feat for a first round!

That's not bad if it's the first time you've ever swung a golf club ;)
Did go the driving range in the week and hit 50 balls, got some tips off a few people there. Also watched hours of videos on youtube,.

Had a few lucky shots that went in the trees then bounced out, off a trunk :D.
won a fiver too for gettin closest the flag on a par 3, out of six of us.

I've been telling people how rubbish golf is for years, how wrong i was.

That's pretty good. But nowhere near as good as Kim Jong Il. In his first ever round of golf he had 5 holes in one and finished 38 under par.

Just had a read of his story and i must say, it must be great being him.

After all, the guy has other serious talents: He’s worth $4 billion, he was born at a secret military base at the foot of a sacred mountain in North Korea where double rainbows appeared at his birth, and finally, he has the
“pleasure squad,” a collection of imported blondes and Asians to satisfy his every desire
.

Welcome to the golf squad. I started in April last year, it's very addicitive. If you put in some hard work the scores will come tumbling down (then the frustration will set in if you hit a dodgy shot, haha). I hit pretty much the same as you on my first round last year (114) and have so far managed to get my handicap down to 20 (was playin off an unofficial 14 last year but then had surgery for a hernia which threw me off for some time), best score so far is a 78 round a fairly short (5500yds) Par 70 course.

ps be prepared to get in the wife/girlfriends bad books on many occasion! 'What, you're going golfing AGAIN? You never spend any time with me anymore......' haha, oh, and steer clear of golf shops after pay day as it's very tempting to try that latest driver out.....

Went out today with a friend today. Keep in mind that this is only my 3rd ever round and I'm pretty rubbish. Playing off a handicap of 36. :(

Red digits = me

Desite that, i've actually improved quite dramatically since my last game where almost every hole was a dud.

You can't expect too much too early, its only been your 3rd round. As long as you are having fun there's no need to worry about anything. I'm sure in a short while you'll be par'ing at will!

I'm more than enjoying it. Got another 3 rounds all lined up in the next 10 days and just came home 5 mins ago with a new putter. :p

Do you want my shrinks number now or u wanna stay addicted?

Hehe its good to know that people are as enthusiastic as i was when i started and it wasn't me just being a weirdo! The quickest way for you to progress would be to find a well regarded pro in the area and spend £15-£25 for a lesson, should keep you on the straight and narrow as i'm sure you will develop some horrible habbits like 99% of golfers do.

Went down to the local golf course to price up some lessons with the Pro, there's an offer on for 6 lessons for £75. May take them up on this. Unfortunately i think i pulled something in my back at work today, so golf may have to wait for a bit.

Played twice last year , late on, after buying some clubs. Hopefully start playing again soon as I loved it!

played my first round last week, but didnt keep score. Ordered my Wilson set via work as we get a very good discount. So i'm off to the driving range tomorrow night!

I am playing my first round today, a little nervous as the lads I am going with are all experienced, main thing I am telling myself is to have fun and not to get too down when I take twice as many shots as everyone else :o
