Traveling abroad in the EU without a current passport; is this feasible, is there likely to be any trouble doing so?

Also, it seems to be difficult to find last minute cheap holidays where the travel time is closer than 2 weeks.

Is there a point in turning up at airports and seeing what they've got? Any tips for spur of the moment travel?

You trying to flee the country for some reason? Trouble with the law?

You're not going to get out of (or back into, if you do) the country without a passport.

Do you know how Airports work or being in one?

You see about 3 different desks checking your Passport! Good luck getting through them without a passport :)

they check it at the check in desk if your flying so as said you wont be getting on any plane, and equally if you were to drive they wouldnt allow you back in, just get a new passport :/ ?

trying to fly without a passport is like trying to breath under water.

Going to a dock ie Dover and trying to hide in a vehicle would be best bet.

or you could try and swim lol

You could however drive into France, you won't get back though.

I've driven over 3 times on the tunnel and I'm pretty sure the last 2 times nobody asked to see my passport, or stopped the car to be searched etc...

I always take a passport though, it's just asking for trouble if you don't.
