Travelling abroad in the EU without a passport.

Explain how you'll be getting back into the Country without a passport.

No problem, they let enough people in as it is without them... Just call yourself Azabullah Jahamad Ahmed, tell them you're gay and fleeing persecution, and you'll be laughing ;)

It's not as stupid as everyone seems to think it is. You can freely travel between most EU countries without a passport. However the UK and Ireland are exempt from this, so you will need a passport unless you happen to be going to Ireland (The UK and Ireland already have a free travel agreement).

Do you know how Airports work or being in one?

You see about 3 different desks checking your Passport! Good luck getting through them without a passport :)

Ive just been to Paris and back from birmingham and at no point did I have to show my passport on this side of the water I was absolutely stunned to be honest, the french were hot on it though i must have shown it them over 4 times before i got on the plane to come back.

Well that’s a first! The UK are very very keen to check your passports! More so than other countries.

I did once get back in via Eurostar from Paris with no passport checks either,

Shame they moved the station from Waterloo.

That's why I asked. :)

I was under the impression that this was one of the advantages of being in the EU.
I have a current passport, my mate doesn't though.

Can't you travel on your photo driving licence?

Burnsy
If you can that'd solve the problem :)

How do you dress yourself in the morning? retard
You looking for a serious answer to that or some sort of arsey reply? I asked the question because I didn't know the answer, you know, no such thing as a stupid question, just a stupid reply :)

Hence why I asked. As said, I thought there was some difference with EU countries.
It's feasible, but only for citizens of countries that have a national ID scheme, you can travel with your passport or your national ID (within the EU.)
Thanks :)
You trying to flee the country for some reason? Trouble with the law?

You're not going to get out of (or back into, if you do) the country without a passport.

Last minute holiday :)
My mate had some time off and suggested an ad lib holiday :)

Thank you, I'm not going completely mental then. Cheers for the proper answer :)

the Portuguese can travel in the EU without any passport-only need our "identity card" national, to move freely in Europe
