1 car, for life (Another izoneiz thread)

A 124 series Merc 500E - effortless performance and probably unbreakable.

or

An early 70's 911 2.7RS - will probably always have enthusiasts and therefore spares and support.

It'd have to be an X5 V8 or an M5. Both very practical and bomb proof, although expensive to maintain, but hey, that's what we work for!

FIAT Panda 4x4 Sisley (the original panda).

Fully re-built, with the shell dipped in zinc. Stripped out, external roll cage, those shields over the lights, and a winch on the front.

2008 lexus ls600

Reliable.
Hybrid ( elec engines are nice for acceleration in towns).
Comfortable.
Nippy.
Stunning looking, both outside and inside.
Big enough I guess.

A Lotus Carlton without a doubt. I can remember when i was only 5 years old and our next door neighbor had one. Everyone has a love for one car in particular and the Lotus Carlton would be mine.

I'll start: a new defender 110 XS. Big enough to carry friends/family/stuff. Timeless. Spares will be around for ever. Easy to maintain since there are few complex electronic bits. Appears to be "built tough" so should stand the test of time.

I wouldn't say there are few complex electronic bits to be fair, Traction/ABS, fly by wire, engine ECU etc. That's quite a lot of electronics for a Land Rover.

I'd probably go with something slightly earlier, say a 1990 Range Rover or a Land Rover or Discovery up to 98. Perhaps a early Schuler/Overfinch.

With all the toys and a V8 diesel engine.
