I picked up a pair of shoes on Monday in the sale but didn't have time to try them on properly, work lunch. They do come up large, the size below would probably fit better.

On the receipt it says,

"At our discretion exchanges will be given within 14 days of purchase when accompanied by a receipt. This does not apply to underwear or Sale Goods..."

Does that mean I am totally out of luch? or is there a chance they would exchange for the size below, I'm not after a refund.

Anyone had any experience?

They may not be able to guarantee an exchange as they may not have them in stock, and probably won't get any more in as it is in the sale. Worth a try though.

As has already been said - you've got no legal rights to have something exchanged because it is the wrong size.
Mainly because as you bought from a store the law says that you had every opportunity to examine the item before purchase.

Most stores however as goodwill will help you out.
If however it was a line they just couldn't shift and they want rid of them then they might decline to help.

thanks for the replies guys.

the store is a designer clothes shop, guilios. i gave them a ring and they said they usually don't but to come and see. they didn't have the size below so they exchanged for a different pair. pretty happy, glad that i didn't waste 92.50!

I always thought "if not fit for purpose" i.e. doesn't fit, they HAD to offer an exchange?

rofl.

No.

It not fit for purpose means it broke too quick or didnt microwave properly or whatever.

Just go to the shop and kick up a fuss, receipts say lots of things that you can ignore. just kick up a fuss and they will get you a pair that fit.

But they are fit for purpose, they would fit someone who had the right size feet.

it's the OP's "fault" for not trying them on before buying (note: I'm not trying to say the OP is an idiot or anything ;))

On a side note, you paid £92.50 for a pair of shoes in a sale?!!!! I hope they were made of gold with diamond encrusted laces!

or they will get annoyed and politely tell you to **** *** :)

or ignore iBot and just be kindly explain to whoever asks if you want help

put yourself in their shoes as it were :p, if some tool came in kicking up a fuss for no apparent reason, i'd show them the door

being considerate and cheeky with a nice grin goes a long way tbh
