13yo earns an AVERAGE! £70 per hour in Brighton..busking!

It might be completely morally wrong of me to laugh, but it would be hilarious if somebody stole his guitar

Very true, and now after appearing on BBC god knows who might just pop down to Brighton for the day and swipe the lot!

Well he had better get himself a security guard for £7/h. All that cash and a guitar worth £2k!

He's a teenager... I bet he's carrying.

They will now everyone knows its worth 2k ,might pop down myself and get it along with his daily takings :)

I'm glad I don't live there though would get on your nerves everyday ,we use to have a busker everyday outside the shop I use to manage and it was the same stuff being played over and over again.

Exactly, shredding != good guitarist

No, shredding doesn't equal a good guitarist - but he is a good guitarist. He looks to have good technique, his rhythm is excellent, and his improvising is waaaaaaay beyond his years.

To the guy who said he's going to be a musician one day - he already is, I've played with worse guitar players on gigs.

This is something that always bugs me...

He's good at shredding, but that doesn't mean he's good at guitar to be honest.

Fair played to him though, he's a talented lad.

he's 13...give him a chance to find his feet before he starts writing the greatest songs ever! :)

got to live before you can write...and boy can he shred.

were lucky to earn 70quid a gig!!! :)

I'm pretty sure != equals 'Does not equal' (Hes agreeing with you)

I actually really liked his busking. Wish he'd come to Oxford to take the place of the annoying bagpipe guy...

And in tomorrow's news

"13 year old in Brighton got beaten up after a day busking for his £2,000 Guitar and £500 in change."

And I was agreeing with him, but could have phrased it better. Read it as

It depends what you define as a good guitarist.

he enjoys what he's doing and makes, relatively speaking, a fortune.

It depends whether you classify good as someone's technical skill, or whether they are good enough to get a good end result.

I'm not saying he is ****, don't twist my words. I'm just sayin the fact that a good shredder does not equal a good guitarist.

I didn't say he was bad in any way, or that he wasn't a good guitarist. Sheeeeesssh

I wasn'y saying "OMG HE'S AMAZIN U R RONG" I was just showing another viewpoint of what makes him good/bad.

Show me where I said he wasn't a good guitarist?

Fact is, yes his shredding is good, he has a good grasp of the technical aspects of a guitar, but you can never say he's a good guitarist from that one video.

Sorry, but that was totally bad arse.

I dislike the fact people can be so quick to knock those which play 'shred' guitar.

And yes, I will say he is good from that video. Would you prefer he showed you a 20 minute long video of his playing styles to prove his worth? I mean, really.

"yeah his good"

rofl
For someone who thought that Pete Docherty was a better guitarist hands down than John Petrucci, I think its fair to say we can simply ignore you.

Note how I am not responding to your trolling, more that I am humiliating you.

... I lost to the iBot trap, didn't I?

Shredding doesn't make a good guitarist. But I didn't say he was bad... Is he a good shreddist? Yes,

Would I like to see more of his guitar skills? Yes. Was that a good video? Yes

But I can't honestly say he is a good guitarist.

End of.

We will simply have to disagree. I for one am tired, bored and embarrassed by what the internet has done to the guitar and shown the guitar community for what it is. An elitest bunch of snobs who will moan at a video for the slightest mistake, who will never give anyone praise unless they play like a pro, and are just on the whole, mean.

Sorry but you 1337 sw33pz were slightly out, noob!

Whatever happened to rocking out and having fun? Who knows.
