Heh another eBay star find!

The touchpad buttons on my awesomenesssexeh HP NC6000 laptop started to be a bit of a pig, so I jumped on the bay to get some more.

I found the same laptop, shell only with working motherboard (irrelevant but useful for spares :) ) for £40 all in, so grabbed it. My volume buttons are also dodgy, so seemed a good whack, and I could sell the screen on as it came with this too.

When I got it today, I was amazed to find the 1400x1050 res screen! :eek: These usually sell for a bit more than £40 themselves.

And then... to find it has the better 64MB Radeon 9600 Pro graphics! :D

One quick retrofitting session later... a laptop with better graphics and an amazing screen!

I recommend anyone with a laptop takes a look for a 1400x1050 screen if your still on a 1024x768 one. They're breathtaking IMO!

Heh, congrats mate, seems you got a stellar deal there :) Got a 1440xsomething screen on my macbook and yeah tis nice :)

To be honest I was thinking of getting rid of said laptop, its a Pentium M 1.7 with 1GB of RAM (DDR1 of course), the graphics are a bit of a strong point (Radeon 9600 Pro) and it plays CS:S well enough for me, just fancied something with a better screen and battery life.

Two reasons I won't be upgrading now :p :
- battery life is up 30 mins from what it was before, 4:45 ish up from 4:15
- screen is awesome, 80PPP all the way, and all my MSN contacts fit on one screen!

Vostro was the upgrade step :p Decided for now to keep this.

It's a 14" screen btw - and anything higher than 1400 would be too small for me I think.

1920 screens are gorrrgeous. Gimme! :D

17" is the new 15".
I'm happy with my Dell Inspiron 9400, got it on the cheap second hand as well.

Anyway, eBay isn't all evil - you just get more negative post about them here as people complain when it's bad but not a lot of cheer when it's great~
