Geometry Wars² is on XBLM

Finally had chance to have a good go and love it.

All the modes have a something to offer; pacifism is especially satisfying for some reason.
 
One of the few games I would consider purchasing an xbox for. However, SSDHD is also amazing if people aint checked that out. (probably my fav ps3 title so far!)

Geometry Wars really is up there with the big hitters like Gears, Halo, Bioshock etc. in my opinion.

Your only paying a small amount of money and you get an incredible game that you can jump into for 5 minutes every week and not get fed up with it.

Best thing about this generation has been the small downloadable games.

I completely agree, nothing against the big games but these arcade games have been such a revelation. I've played stuff like Marble Blast and Geo Wars more than I've played Bioshock.
 
Ok I have one complaint with this game, which mostly affects evolved mode, and it was also an issue in the first game I found. IT'S TOO DAMN RANDOM. Sometimes I can get say to 7,000,000 points with not much trouble at all. Just now I was only at 1,000,000 and it was ludicrously difficult. Loads of those purple boxes spawning in each corner 4 times in a row. I use a bomb and instantly the screen was almost entirely full just half a second later. The difficulty is too random.
 
Loving this, very polished. And they seem to have stopped spawning enemies killing you, that bugged me in the last one. New modes are great although i suck badly at waves and sequence. Getting the achievements is fun, especially the 'surf' achievement.
 
Treaty: Activate 30 zones in King without firing a shot, or destroying any enemies.

I've got 29 3 times!! Aaarrrggghhhh!
 
I love the fact that it shows mini leaderboards and lets you see the top score of them as you are playing. Gives you something to aim for.

Is the multiplayer anygood? Don't care about it not being over live, as that'd introduce lag which would kill this game no matter how small.

Same here (about 5 minutes ago) and played so much this morning I'm feeling slightly dizzy.

There's real pain in some of these achievements... lol

With Treaty I'd got 29 at least 5 times and 28 over 15.
With Rebound I got 74 twice before I got it.
With Wax Off I'd got to 99%!

I swear the game does it deliberatly just to wind me up :) Got 160/200 now though but need to work on higher scores :) (Mine are quite pitiful).

I think the first Geo Wars was anyway. I found it much more addictive even though I really like SSHD as well.

Geo Wars 2 takes the formula of the first and improves on it in every department. The only criticism I would have of the game is that the effects sometimes are a little over the top and it becomes difficult to see what's going on. Apart from that the game is great.

I can't even be bothered trying to get the Smile achievement, I guess I'll just stay at 11/12.
