ive made a decision recently that the lianli v1000z is going to be my new case

at £190 its pretty expensive as well as hard to get hold of

[have asked overclockers if they are getting any in]

but...

my question is -

the psu sticks out half way on the stock photos
like this...

v1000zf3.jpg

can this be changed so the psu is fully internal
does the case come with the lian li psu mounting plate as well so you can choose how the psu sits?

i think having the psu halfway out of the case would look a bit silly

is it just like this so you can fit larger psus such as an enermax galaxy etc?

anybody got one/seen one before

ideally i would like to see one irl before blowing £200 on a case but it does look pretty... :p

Yeah its just for large psu. hows the cooling on the mobo done? cant see any front fans getting to it?

its got one of those fan extentions [optional of course]

it looks like a great case
and the perfect size for my current rig

i just really need to know if it comes with the standard backing plate to fit normal psu's in. i think it would look amazing if it was all flush and tidy

when i get it i will post the pics - perhaps even do a mini review

yes - hot swappable hard drive bays

cable tidy heaven!!!

thats one of the reasons i like it

all other cases featuring this are too massive/expensive to consider

mhhh get 4 raptors at Raid 0 :D and 2 HDD for storage.., looks like some nice space between the HDD for cooling is that a fan by the HDD Cages on the right hand side? 60mm?

cheers tetsu - where did you get that info form if you dont mind me sounding cheeky?

It was over at hardforum.com I think do a search someone had quite a few pics up and I dont remember it. You can always contact lian li if you dont mind waiting a week

i can see on a few pics that they have similar mountin holes for the back plate on this as the standard lainli plate

chances are it will come with both knowing lianli
i suppose i could order a spare off ocuk and mod it to fit if its a no go

im thinking of taking out one of the drive bays as i only run 3 hdds

ocuk are having to wait for these so i might just have to wait too

:(

oh well at least i can start putting money aside for it!

just emailed a distributor who stocks them

they are checking the box to look at the contents and getting back to me

see i was thinking that

there are apparantly dust filters on the drive bays and where the hdd fan is

but around the sides of that on the front panel im not sure

to be honest i wont like looking at the front as you can see through the mesh to the ugly grey metal inside - i might put some sound dampening on the inside of the front so that air intake only happens throught the mesh drive bays + hdd fan intake

all these ideas and no case :p

i know - i saw your thread - but my question was specific about the case psu mount

wasnt sure if anybody had one and kew what came in the box

turns out that the psu mount in the picture in the op is the only one that comes with it and you can purchase the flush mount seperate

ahh well

im probably still going to get it

will pick one of these flush mounts up somewhere i guess

im a bit like you nanoman - waiting for a decent supplier

ideally it would be good if ocuk got them in so i could pick it up from their store

The wheels and the PSU look so vile, but i guess if you can pick up the flush mounts, then its only the wheels which need to come off now (^^) im sure you can do that somehow :O this is a case for cable management gods i guess?

Do lian li just make bad photos or are they making lovely looking cases with next to no cable management features?
The space behind the motherboard panel on the antec1200 is a god send for cable management.

They are in stock at £175 with side window on a dedicated computer case e-tailer.

yeah but thats exc vat on that site

------------
cable management doesnt look too much of a problem
the main cables you will have would be mobo/gfx/optical as the hdds are all on the hotswap boards

as with any case - their is always a way to do it
i spend more time planning cable positions than i do building the actual rig anyway

will see how it goes if i manage to get hold of a case!

in other news

i have spoken to a supplier with them in stock to find out about the psu plate

apparantly it only comes with the sticky outie one - but the flush one can be ordered for about £6

im not keen on the wheels - i would possibly be modding mine to sit on some nice feet perhaps

still not heard anything back from ocuk about the possiblility of them getting stock

have a good 80% of the cash for one - but would prefer to pick it up direct from ocuk tbh
