im hoping its like st.anger with better production, that was their finest moment since ride the lightning/Master of Puppets..
btw the youtube stuff is a different group covering the new song
 
When i saw him play Master of Puppets in it's entirety at Download 2006 he seemed to be able to play well. I'm not defending the guy, just i don't think being harsh about the guys ability is really warranted tbh.

Joey jordison played he kicked ass, so did the slayer drummer and as you say the drum tech.

i do when he has to chop and splice his beats cause he can't keep up, i hate fakes.

That's in a studio though?

And i said live he seemed up to the task, can't really fake much live?
Or am i missing something?

I know from previous posts by you, that you know what you're talking about, im not trying to outdo you or anything, just inquisitive :)
 
I really am crossing my fingers for this album because i have this irrational fear that this one is the point of no return, they **** this up then i cant see them ever getting the magic back. I'm hoping Rubin can right the ship but the most im hoping for is something like Load which tbh compared to St'Qualitystreettindrums is ******* genius!

this band has only done 1 good album. But they are good live.

They should get back on the alcohol and coke.

I do, they're my favourite band and I've been listening to them since Master of Puppets was released in 86.

St. Anger was a disappointment sure and it's the only album I don't listen to of theirs, I'd hardly call it embarrassing though.

Ive seen them eight or nine times now and that download show without Lars was my favourite. I dont think he's a bad drummer by any means, infact for the most part his style of drumming is exactly what the music needs. Joey Jordison playing with them really was great though, his drumming seemed to give the songs a whole new dynamic, Dave Lombardo did a pretty good job as well.

I know the last three albums havent been upto much but im looking forward to seeing them at Leeds and maybe hearing a few new tunes :).
 
Yeah, they'll still be great, everyone knows this in their heart of hearts :D They might have forgotten how to make great albums but they still know how to play the old songs. You can't like metal and not rock out like a teenaged idiot when they play master of puppets.
