it is quite sick that he killed somone who was begging for there life. 40 years sounds okay though seeing as he most probably will die in prison

I don't believe it should, that's pretty much saying they're worth more than everyone else.

They're already considered to be above the law, presumably because they have powers to enforce it...

I want to swear so badly.

You shoot 3 policemen point blank, one pleading for his life and the killer gets his sentence reduced.

The judges should be damn well thrown in prison.

But surely by killing a police officer, you're not only killing a person but showing total contempt for authority and society.

Yes its sickening and easy to say he should be in there forever, but do you realise how long 37 years is? It's as good as life, because when you get out you won't have one left. If I went in at 20 I'd come out almost 60.

But if it's comparable, why not go the whole hog? Why should be ever be released? Why not keep him in there for an extra few years until he dies?

I think you're doing that regardless of whether they are a police officer or not. i agree with you, that he should be locked up for life but the present judiciary rarely do that.

Personally I would give life to anyone who receives 3 prison sentences regardless of the crimes and prisons wouldn't be holiday camps either.

Well, the states' own records show it:

Expressing one's contempt for authority and society should not be illegal, in fact it's protected by our rights to free speech. Hence, the only aspect of this crime that should be taken into consideration is the fact that he killed someone. That it was a police officer isn't really relevant.

You seem to be suggesting that his sentence should be increased for the sake of some arbitrary sense of neatness?
