The Dark Knight - **Spoiler Thread**

When Batman speaks to Lucius about getting dog proof armour, Lucius mentions something about being cat proof as well. Can't remember exactly what he said but I remember thinking, "ah, that's a nod to Catwoman"
Anyone else remember this?

Im not reading all the thread, but nolan is working on the new movie i believe featuring Johnny Depp 'The Riddler" just to reinforce anybodys rumors :)

There are three rumours:

The Riddler - Johnny Depp
The Penguin - Philip Seymour Hoffman
Catwoman - Angelina Jolie

I felt the movie started to lose some cohesion near the end and got a bit bloated and confusing ... it felt like too much was happening, too fast and what were great scenes individually, felt disconnected on the whole. I dunno, maybe when it comes out on DVD and I can watch it again, it will be better.

Heath Ledger did seriously play the role brilliantly and I really do mean that despite all the hype (especially with him dying and all), but I seriously felt he didn't get enough screen time and his character a bit restrained (being a 12A movie it's no wonder I guess ).

Plus, I got the impression from the movie that the Joker was more of a loner, yet he managed to do so much damage and cause the the whole city to go into chaos. In particular the hospital scene was a bit silly, how did he manage to get all the bombs in there.

Also the whole two face storyline was poorly done in my opinion. It didn't make any sense how he got so angry, nor did I understand why they saved him instead of the other woman. Plus what was he on about when he accused the Gary Oldman character of being corrupt? (or something along those lines)

Finally the, sonar mobile phone thing, while a fair enough concept at first, got a bit ridiculous when they got everyones phone to do the same thing.

You obviously wasn't paying much attention to the movie :p

The Joker lied about where they were being kept, Batman thought he was going to save Rachel.

I agree he appeared to be a loner but it seems to have ample goons to assist him throughout the film - Im sure they placed the bombs ;)

They saved him because the Joker gave the wrong information to Batman on purpose - so instead of saving the girl he was redirected to Dent (as per Jokers intentions). No doubt Batman got there in the nick of time whereas Gordon didnt...

Two-Face was angry because he had lost his girl and blamed Gordon for this, he probably accused Gordon for corruption since earlier in the film he was aware that the majority of Gordons team were bent and couldnt be trusted when he attempted to 'cleanse' the city...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but near the end, just before batman and two face take the fall, it seemed like he saved two face (Harvey Dent) because he was more important to Gotham City (or something along those lines). If indeed, he was misled by the Joker, why didn't Batman just tell that to two face? That whole section of the movie seemed a little rushed if you ask me.

I dont think telling someone that you were really going to save his girl rather than him while he has a family hostage really helps :p.

<gruffly> 'Yeah, soz man, saving you was a a mistake! Kay?!?'. Now let Gordon and his family go - pwetty please? </gruffly> :p

Can someone clear something up for me, is Lucius still running the company? He said something like as long as this machine is here he wouldn't work for Bruce, but the machine looked like it blew up.

This is what I thought- that Batman chose to save Dent because he 'believed in Harvey Dent', and that the city needed him (remember Bruce Wayne's speech earlier in the film etc). I guess I must have missed that he was given the incorrect address.

Well, the bit when Gordon asks Batman who he's going to save and he says "Rachel" was a dead give away for me. :p

I know that, but maybe he changed his mind on the way, lol. I still don't understand why he didn't just explain to harvey dent that he was misled by the Joker. Clearly he wanted to save the life of Rachael rather than his, so whats the problem here?
