Sticking up for your other half..

Some of you on here are bound to play PC games (obviously) so what would you do in the following situation.

You and your other half are playing a game on the same server with lets say another 20 people on that server. After a while some of the randoms on the server who neither of you know, start making smart comments about your other half, how she shouldn't be playing and how she should be in the kitchen, how she is a ****s, etc...

do you either..

a. get annoyed by this but take things with a pinch of salt becuase it's bound to be a bunch of keyboard warriors, sticks and stones, etc..
b. get annoyed and tell them what you think of them and defend your other half
 
I'd just tell them to grow the **** up to be honest, even if it wasn't my SO.

After that no point dwelling on it, probably pre-pubescent kids.
 
Neither, she's big enough to take care of herself and she's got a brain so she's able to react to this sort of thing (even if she is secretly thinking about kittens and fluffy stuff).
 
Dont say anything , is it worth the hasstle!?
Report them to the GM for abuse! :D
 
You see, although i'd happily defend my other half if someone was walking down the street and started something, since its some random over the internet, although I want to defend her I just don't see the point becuase hes just childish and will, as the person above me said, feed off any responce.

So can someone please explain why my girlfriend thinks I don't "care" about her as I didn't stand up to these people? :rolleyes:

If its over voice - mute the voice comms

If its over text - somthing simple as "grow up" and ignore it :)

I used to play CSS at a high level, still do sort of, and im constantly confronted with racist and abusive children, easiest way to shut them up is A. beat them and B. dont give them any response at all

Ahhhh it's one of "those" situations is it? A girl I used to knock about with decided to mouth off* at a bunch of asian lads in college and got upset later because I didn't back her up (I didn't want the **** kicked out of me, and they would've done nothing to her. Had they tried anything on her then I would've stepped in mind).

Completely different situation, I know, but some women seem to expect you to stick up for them no matter what and then get upset without thinking it through. Like you said, they would've fed on the response.

* I know you didn't say your lady was doing that, just using this as an example.

Thats similar to the way she is. The thing is, she has got a mouth on her and 9 times out of 10 she will happily give as good as she gets and dare I say it, has far more whit than I do when it comes to giving people returned abuse.

I just found it odd that this one time shes giving me greif yet to me, although the people were being idiots, it wasn't a biggy and I would have just laughed the situation off and told them to, like others have said, grow up.

I'm asking becuase i'd like to know what other people would do in the situation? This is a public, general discussion forum after all :p
 
You missed option C: Join in.

With this option there is chance of you getting a sandwich made whilst she's in the kitchen:p
 
What games do you play? I've rarely come across bad sportsmanship, but then UT2004 doesn't have this problem (at least compared to Battlefield).
