Debating whether to get the iphone or the HTC diamond, which is the best for internet browsing? Are there any others that you would recommend

HTC Diamond has a higher res (640x480) screen and 7.2mbps HSDPA. iPhone is only 480x320. Is it 3.6 or 7.2mbps?

iphone3g is 3.6 hsdpa

Diamond has a better resolution and overall nicer screen but the Iphone is quite a bit bigger......so pick your poison.

the iphone interface is miles ahead of windows mobile in terms of ease of use, so even tho there are less pixels you will find u can do more, more quickly on the iphone, i think.

the s60 browser on my nokia 6120 is good but my 2.5g iphone using safari on wifi spanks it out of sight. At the moment safari on iphone is the best browser just wish it would support .ram streaming so I could listen to radio over wifi.

Safari and multitouch on Iphone makes browsing the internet so much easier, I rarely use the internet on my old TyTn2 as it felt like a chore browsing sites not made for small screens.

iPhone3G seems to have the better out of the box internet experience, but it seems to be having a few 2.0 firmware issues so Id wait until that all gets fixed first.

WiMo phones can be tweaked to have a good experience but it takes some effort...

iPhone.
Had a HTC Trinity and using that for web browsing was a chore. HTC Diamond will no doubt be better than the Trinity. I have an iPhone now and wow, the Safari browser is brilliant. Web browsing is easy and the multitouch is a godsend. So if you want to get the best internet browsing experience go for the iPhone.

An iPhone without a doubt. Its not the most technically accomplished, as it doesn't support flash, which other browsers do. The screen doesn't have the highest res, or the fastest connectivity. It doesn't matter one jot as the browser is frankly amazing. Its fast, quick, and intutive. Its really how a mobile browser should be. Opera Mini, Opera Mobile and netfront do passable jobs sometimes but they just don't compare.

On paper it doesn't stack up, but try one. I've used so many mobile browsers, and in the past I would have said Opera Mini (PIE is just so rubbish), but having spent a lot of time with Safari on the iphone, its impressive.

Put it this way, my wife likes to check websites sometimes in bed, and she normally dumps the phone on me and asks me to look them up for her. With the iPhone she'll happyily navigate websites her self, its that easy and makes sense to her. It just works.

As phone though the iPhone arguablly is quite poor, depending on what you want.

iphone by a mile, a friend of mine is the manager of a tmobile store and has a diamond, we were comparing it today to my iphone 3g and it is MASSIVELY better to browse on, as people have said above, just so intuitive and quick. It's what sold the iphone for me tbh, the internet browsing is sublime.

i was using windows mobile for 6 years before this so i'm in no way a biased fanboy, i wanted to like the diamond as i get half price line rental on tmobile but still got the iphone
