The Moon transiting Earth

Ever wondered what an Alien civilisation would see if it were to view Earth through one of their ultra-high resolution telescopes (assuming they use telescopes)?

Somehow, it just looks so bizarre watching our own moon transit across the face of Earth.

So, are you telling me that you can see the Earth in space and the moon transiting across it simply by looking up?

Well I can see the Earth and it is in space so check to that one... I can see the moon, and I think I read on wikipedia that its moving so check to that as well.

You see the moon transiting across the sky, not the Earth. It's a subtle yet huge difference.

Again, it's the same Moon making the same trip... my perspective is irrelevant, it's nice that he just realised that things appear differently depending on where you are but it doesn't really change that its just the Moon going around the Earth.

The aliens that just looked at us in their ultra-high res telescope just posted on the intergalactic GD "hey did you know if you were on the Earth that it's moon would appear to only go across the visible sky? how bizzare"

Erm, the whole point of his comment was that the perspective made the difference...

GD formula: people make threads based on some nonsense they read somewhere or some nonsense that came to them in a blinding flash of inspiration... people reply with nonsense, more nonsense and few bits of nonsense on the side an undertone of anti-muslim nonsense and you have succesfully made a GD thread.
