hmmmm, dont quite understand the obsession with the focus ST, it's a really good car, but, trying not to sound like a fanboy, or fox:
What does it do that a bmw 330i/Ci doesnt do better? I test drove quite a few Focus STs including wolfrace st285s and whilst they were relatively quick, not massively quicker than a 330i especially the newer one which are coming sub 20k, and they didnt feel as planted, MUCH lower build quality, lower specs (cruise not even an option?) imo not as nice a noise as the inline 6 with a sports exhaust, use more petrol and the power delivery isn't as entertaining for backroad blasts........oh, and the small factor of rwd
So, other than being able to get one a year or 2 newer for the same price what's the benefit of the focus ST? Running costs aren't going to be massively different either really, bmw will cost more to service but is much much much cheaper to insure surprisingly, and is in a lower tax bracket so is only going up to £310.
Dont get me wrong i do really like the Focus ST and really wanted one until driving one back to back with a bmw.
/awaits "at least you dont get branded a **** in a focus" or other such remark
