Not happy with my BenQ RMA - FP241W

This is shocking! It's almost as if BenQ never see/test their RMA's, but just ship them back out once somebody needs a replacement. I'd be demanding a new one if i were you Deluxe1, and then never buy BenQ again.

If you ask me, OcUK should drop these like they did with XFX.

I had similar problem with a Benq CRT screen many years ago. Brand new out of the box screen which had an image defect so I spoke to the etailer who suggested logging a call with Benq to get a quicker turn around. I must have gone through half a dozen screens all of which were refurbs and you could quite clearly see they were refurbs as above. The last screen has an almighty scratch on the screen so I contacted the etailer in the end they agreed to take the screen back and refund me.

Have never ever gone near Benq ever since.

If I were you Deluxe1 I'd be talking to their CS and then demand to talk to management, then get the number/contact details for their quality/complaints department and take it from there.

Your FP241W has those TCO stickers! both of mine never came with those! or is this new ones only (or old ones as might be the case here!)

not an issue as I flinged the BenQ screens back to the stores I got them before getting the Hazro but thought I'd mention!

4th one turned up today and altho it has no physical defects its a April 2007 version when i was told i would finally get a June 2007 model which was the same as mine which had the latest firmware on so this one doesnt have the overscan option.

Not sure what to do now, just feel like giving up and accepting i'll not get the model i bought and flog this and never go back to BenQ again.

Ring them up and badger them, tell them the overscan option is the main reason why you purchased the monitor. If you give up then they win as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed with the above this seems to be a ridiculous saga.

If I were you id be wanting to speak to someone higher up and getting a brand new monitor.

After doing some research i think this one has been flashed with the latest firmware, the overscan option is there in mine but it was greyed out so couldnt access it.Its only available when you have a video source plugged in or hdmi.

Still not %100 happy but i think this is the best i'll get.

Well this one (the 4th) has lasted less than a day before dying on me,switched my pc on this morning to find this.

Thought it could have been my drivers so uninstalled them and reinstalled but didnt do any good then thought it was my GTX260 so took that out and put in another card but it was still the same then tried my Dell monitor and everything was fine so has to be the BenQ.

SO 4 bad LCD's? Don't you guys have some kind of institution, like CUSTOMER SERVICE, some kind of bureau of customer rights protection?

Deluxe>Show them this thread. Hopefully they will see sense and give you a monitor which is not damaged and the screen is perfect.

Get in touch with the citizens advice bureau and see where you stand.

I have always read good thing about benq and their screens but after reading your posts and some others I personally wouldn't take the chance with them if that's how they treat their customers.

While you may be an isolated case with the RMA's what to say they wouldn't pull the same stunt if anyone else benq needed RMA'ing.

Dell are pretty bad for this sort of thing I would never thought the same of Benq either.

That's not good at all. I've had some problems recently with my early '07 FP241W - LCD burn in (it doesn't take much for this to happen), a small bleeding light on the edge of the screen and the monitor losing the signal randomly.

So I've been thinking about getting it sorted under the warranty but if those are the sort of replacements they send out...

LCD burn in is nothing like CRT burn in, it should fade pretty quickly with continued usage. If it doesn't then the screen is faulty end of.

Just an update,i sent the 4th one back and recieved one with 5 dead pixels so replaced that one today with the 6th replacement and low and behold they have sent me the same one back as i had before.

Its the one in post 30,ive made a note of each of the monitors serial numbers and its a match with the exact same problem.

It worked for a few hours then switched it off and have just not came back and found all the strange colours on my desktop.

Truly appalling CS... :( If you can live with not having a functioning monitor then stick with it mate, there's no excuse for this kind of lack of attention to detail

This is insane, you must be about ready to kill somebody.

You should demand your money back now, 6 replacements isn't even funny.

Already asked for a new one they turned me down flat, they must be really short of suitable replacements if ive recieved the same one back.

Ive emailed and asked for a call back from the RMA departments Manager altho i asked that before and never got one.

Wonder if its worth trying to get ocuk involved in this and they can have a word on behalf of me?
