McCanns going too far?

I know it's not the point but from the actions described the 5 year old child sounds perfectly responsible to be left alone! On discovering signs of a fire rather then risk his life trying to put it out he calls the fire brigade! Sounds like he's a lot more responsible then most teenagers you see on the streets.

If you believe their version of events it's a perfectly normal statement to make. Children can be snatched anywhere at any time, having your children snatched doesn't make you bad parents, it just means there are bad people in the world.

There are probably lots and lots of parents who would criticise over protective parents as well saying that they're raising a generation of people who will be unable to look after themselves/cope with modern life as they've been molly coddled the whole time. The point being that everyone will have their own ideas on how best to look after their children and those ideas will vary to the extremes.

It was a very unfortunate incident but in no way are they neglectful in a cruelty to children NSPCC way.

From the recent documents released it seems like the people really at fault for the current state of events (apart from the alleged abductor) are the Portuguese police - some of the stuff they failed to follow up on is ridiculous.

What, like the parents for several months ;)

Some of it is police failure, but should they really have been indulging the wild goosechase ideas that many of these claimed sightings were?

I'm still confused why Kate McCann thinks they should have been given all the information about the case when they were still suspects in it...

As far as I know the McCanns were never investigated as bad parents anytime in their childrens lives.
As far as I know and from hearing neighbours & friends talk about them they were model parents.
They did what 1000s upon 1000s of other holidaying parents do which is to have a drink while their children slept in a chalet that was a 100 yards (or less) away and kept looking in every 30 mins.
Yes, it was unfortunate.

And for the record I've never left my own kids in a chalet on holiday.

To the outside world bar a few brushes with the law Fred and Rose west were model parents!!!

Just out of interest, when they say the files have been made available to the public - what does this mean - is there a website where they are all digitised and can be downloaded? Assuming they are all in Portugeuse anyway.
 
I must say ive grown extremely bored of this topic. Its not like its the the first child to ever be obducted. I know i sound harsh but its true.
Yet here we are more than a year later and they are still getting lots of money they are still in the news they are still using a private jet to go anywhere in the world they wish to go to "investigate"
I mean comeon and what will happen to all this money if she is found ?
