dragons den , pc guy owned

Ha that was funny. The problem he has was he lied about company value, didnt explain what he was actually doing to make 'green' pc's, had absolutely no debating/convincing/social skills what so ever and he could have had a good shave before asking for 250k's of someones cash!

I wonder if they filter out the "average" pitches just to get the good ones or utterly pap ones?

I imagine they just show the most interesting ones, but mix it in with the absurd/funny ones because it wouldn't appeal to as many people if they didn't. Also, over on the Sheffield forums they are discussing the guys pitch, and an employee from his company said the real pitch lasted over two hours.

Her expertise is in the holiday industry, there are very few pitches that are based on that kind of thing.

The others have dabbled in all sorts already and being that most people want expertise relevant to their industry..

I take your point about her "expertise" in the holiday industry but that doesn't tally with her attitude towards people who come with non-holiday industry products. On the whole she is very aggressive and boarder line rude to people who present businesses she has no "expertise" in. Yes its a TV show and yes its supposed to be entertainment but the investment opportunities are real and often the people involved have worked hard to even get in front of the dragons.

He looks like he's having a very slow yet progressively worsening stroke.

LOL! :D

an "employee" from his company was posting? - with 20k net profit you have to wonder how many he could have ;)

It's funny but (without wanting to risk a lawsuit lollage), the business women who I have met tend to be like that. It's bloody irritating.

Investment is not about charity. If they've worked bloody hard for a crap idea, they will need a damn good slap in the face to convince them it's a crap idea. If they have got to the Dragon's with a pants idea, then more fool them for not listening to the probably countless others who would have told them it's pants.

This is business, MTA99, a dog eat dog world and you will get bitten.

Was that a good impression?

Finally got to watch the episode.

I must admit, from I saw I can categorically say that Peter Jones was seriously lacking in IT knowledge.

Why on earth would any new installation be running RS232? And they guy did have a point about the power consumption of network infrastructure and the fact that thin clients are an expensive way to do any task that requires a hint of performance.

Saying that, I wouldn't have invested, OEMs like Levono and HP are releasing machines with very low power consumption and as a brand they cannot compete with them.
