people who dont touch their chest will press more than someone who does, but unless its a competition who cares? I personally try to get as full a range of motion as possible and im sure if i got a few guys claiming 150kg squats and made them squat MY way they would soon be humbled. But the simple fact is, especially in bodybuilding, its not what you do but the results you get. TBH if i found that cheat curls with wrist straps gave me arm growth id stand in the gym (maybe even the squat rack
) doing them proudly.
Most people who cant bench of their chest have poor shoulder mobility, they can either address this through proper training or ignore it and hope they never get to a point where it causes injury.
MSM while not aimed at you, how close in can you bring your hands in a back squat? can you touch your shoulders? And if you lie on a bench and hold a dumbell in both hands (pullover style) can you reach back and touch it to the floor? My bet is no and my bet is poor anterior rotation, should deffo try and get it sorted. If its your shoulder giving you bench issue anyway.
