Hi,

I have been looking for an Intel motherboard similar to the Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H.
I dont need it to be mATX or Gigabyte, but would like, if possible for it to have:

Onboard fx with HDMI out or the ability to run HD media to 1080p as well as 7.1 sound.
Socket 775 and support up to 8gb mem.

Do Intel have boards with fx like the HD3200?

Cheers

Just seen this: abit fatal1ty f-i90hd ati micro atx (socket 775) pci-express ddr2 motherboard in the ocuk shop, thought i was finally on to something until i discovered a mistake in the first sentence:

set up a fully fledged high definition home theater system with true digital hdtv in 1080p resolution

but on the abit and ATI sites it says this:

Set up a fully fledged high definition home theater system with true digital HDTV in 1080i resolution
Supports the following formats of YPbPr component output: 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, and 1080i. :(

Who is right i wonder :/

Probably G45, but it's still not available in the UK but should be by the end of the month.

What's you actual usage going to be? Do you need full 7.1 audio via HDMI?

Its for a mate, he already has an intel cpu and has a rubbish motherboard - he bought a computer from pc world, need i say more ;)

Thinking about it, he may need SPDIF socket to his amp and HDMI to his tv.

Well G45 is the one to have, Intels answer to the 780G with full hardware decoding of BD/HD-DVD but better audio support (780G HDMI audio is just S/PDIF).

Do you mean this: GA-EG45M-DS2H?

Looks pretty much like mine except it has intel onboard fx .. hmmm intel graphics :/ and Dolby Digital rather than DTS :)

Cheers AbsenceJam, appreciate it ;)
