marc2003, I think I will just have to let myself have it with the keyboard and mouse for a couple of days and see how I get on. I am sure it must whittle down to user preference.

I always use the pad on pc for GTA games. I did however use the mouse on that mission on SA where you have to shoot down all them RC planes and was a piece of pee doing it that way. IIRC i had many many goes and almost destroyed a pad on console trying to do that mission .

God I remember that on the PS2, that WOULD have been so much easier with a keyboard and mouse.

Im not convinced the graphics are going to be any more awesome than the console versions.

AA, AF, Resolutions and Refresh rates on the other hand, are going to rule!

AA and AF combined with 1920x1200 is what will make the graphics better. Not to mention the superior draw distance of PC and also the lack of random popping up props!

Why can't they release stuff like this in the summer when I don't have college and exams...

Still though, can't wait even if it isn't a patch on Vice City.

By graphics, I'm sure he means they won't be using better models and higher resolution textures.

I've a feeling the LoD won't be so aggressive, and the texture resolutions may be a little higher. Judging from previous GTAs on the PC, just about everything was improved - from textures to lighting and shadowing. I am willing to bet the shadowing in GTA4 will especially receive a significant clean-up. The graphical dithering will probably go too.

There's a lot of clear and obvious ways in which the graphics could be improved.

and buildings to suddenly appear out of no-where

i borrowed my mate's 360 for a weekend of GTA4, after 90 mins of messing around i turned it off and gave it back to him

Am sure they will put higher quality textures in there and as stated above better draw distance with lovely AA & AF, it should make the console version look poor imo.

its going to have improved textures and res etc

but the game is still pretty dull

its a ***final mission*** "oh - is that it?"

type game

nothing special

thats why there are loads of copies on trade in store shelves

But it's GTA. in GTA games like this you don't play it just for the missions, you play it to explore the environment, do mad crazy jumps and see how much fun you can have in a game world :p
