Citylink are a bunch of ****ers who should be shot. I actually have footage of a citylink man (because of persistent irritances and annoyances with their services) walking up to my door, NOT knocking, turning around with my package and driving off in the van. I might upload it, it's incredibly funny and sad.

Please do :D

Nobody ever posts about acceptable service that works like it should though.
Maybe I'll start a topic soon saying "City Link delivered my parcel on the date I asked..."
I guess it depends on where you live as to how rubbish the drivers are, I've not had any major City link problems though... One day a delivery was 1 day late though...

Edit: At least it's wasn't Amtrak...

Parcel force did this at my house the other day.

My brother was in a room right by the door, you can hear or see if a van pulls up so there's no way you can't hear someone knock.

The guy obviously didn't knock and just left a card saying we were not it lol..

Where we live is pretty much the last stop though as I think the nearest depo is Preston over an hour away.

Yep, none are great for this but Citylink are easily the worst - occasionally they are what tips the balance between ordering something from OcUK and from somewhere that doesn't use Citylink.

Last thing I took delivery for was an iPod touch, bought from the MM here.

City Link managed to deliver it on time, but they still cocked up. They'd sent me an extra parcel - which was fairly expensive and for another forum member - it was clearly addressed aswell. Someone slightly less honest might have just kept it.

Fair enough to them, they came back and collected it later that day - nearest depot to me is Exeter, and I'm in Bridgwater! Bit of a drive..

I had a case where I wasn't in and they left a card (which was fair enough). Arranged for a redelivery the following day, and nothing. I phoned them up and they said they couldn't find the address. I asked if it was the same driver as the day before, they said yes. So I asked, well he found it yesterday and left a card! It was xmas eve, so probably wanted to knock off work early, GRR!

;)

Just over a week ago I had a City Link guy say he "carded" my house. The notes on the system said he put the card through a brown door, my door is white.

I just phoned both the head office and the local depot every 15 minutes until I got my parcel pointing out the driver had lied. I got my parcel.

Mr Bloor
I am concerned about the level of service you have received from my depot at Stoke on Trent, please accept my apologies for this and rest assured that i will investigate how the driver can confuse brown with white !!.
At this stage i can only assume that the driver has carded the wrong house in error.
Regarding the telephone issue, this would have been through our call centre in Nottingham and i will pass this to the customer service manager there to check who it was that failed to deal with your enquiry in a professional and courteous way, and take the necessary action with the individual concerned.

My response:

Thank you for your reply.

Until Friday I had never experienced an issue with a City Link delivery unlike countless others who have had their time wasted by "failed deliveries" A quick search on the internet and you will find that the problem of no delivery being even attempted but City Link is an all to frequent tail, to add insult to injury on many occasion there is never a card placed through the door either even though you report a card has been left.

Yesterday I had a colleague of yours try to tell me that this situation maybe "just a misunderstanding" it absolutely was not, a driver saying he attempted a delivery and putting card through a door when it categorically did not happen is a lie, not a misunderstanding.

If you look back through the history of deliveries by City Link to my address you will see that I have never not been at home to receive a parcel to this address in the 4 years I have lived here, I can only assume that the driver in this instance was not the normal driver.

I will not tolerate being lied to under any circumstance, you have wasted my time and retailers time. Please be assured that I will be taking up this issue with Rentokill Initial.

Regards

David Bloor.
