Sky or Virgin Media?

Not going to happen for a while, no where near the same customer base when they stopped charging for the sky+ function yet.

I agree, I was simply mentioning it for those folks that didn't know that maybe, one day in the future they will stop raping us for an extra £10 a month

Sorry, nooby question, but what have they stopped charging for regarding the sky+ function? We have the plain old sky box, and are starting to think about getting sky+. We don'#t have a HD TV though, so won't be needing Sky HD.

It’s basically an extra charge on top of your bill, for me as I have SkyHD as well I have to pay an extra £10 which is the HD subscription, Sky + had this when it was first introduced but no longer has an extra subscription.

They had the charge for years after Sky+ was released. It has been free for a good year or 2 at least now. Due to how long they charged the sub for Sky+, not many of us are getting our hopes up about a HD sub drop any time soon.

As said here,

there has been talks about to to try and increase the customer base. But they have now dropped the price on the box and the only way they are making any money out of HD is the extra subs. So untill there is more demand, like sky+ demand they won't drop it.

It will happen though, eventually.
