Yes but at least the performance and results isn't as bias as their friendly country voters.
French, I believe is the official language of the International Olympic Committee. I'm prepared to be corrected though!
Ok so disregarding all the crappy politics etc (which btw is a bit of an up yourself reason not to watch what is merely a tv show in my opinion), that was a friggin brilliant ceremony. The epic numbers of performers was staggering, and all acting with military precision, incredible to watch. Some of the aerial shots they hardly looked like people any more, in their swarms. Good luck London is all I can say. However I don't think London will be that arsed about superseding the Beijing ceremony, China is trying to make an impression on the rest of the world, which isn't something that will be on London's agenda really. Which is a shame.

agree, we just don't have the historylike these other countries. Suppose we could have a massive Maypole Dancing section, lol

It was an impressive ceremony as expected.
It had to be! If it wasn't the organisers would have been taken around back and subjected to some Chinese 5.8mm re-education..

Don't think having some sort of military opening ceremony would go down to well will the Olympic commitee in 2012. Probably have some X-Factor wannabie singer on it though, lol
